The Netherlands have named a comparatively youthful squad ahead of next week's home CWC Super League series against the West Indies. Pieter Seelaar will lead a squad made up largely of domestically-based players as the ongoing English County season has kept several senior players away.

In line for potential ODI debuts are former Auckland batting all-rounder Teja Nidamanuru, who recently qualified on residency having been playing in the Netherlands for several years, as well as Haagse CC opener Tonny Staal, who has played a number of T20Is for the Dutch but has yet to feature at senior level in the longer format. Staal joins former clubmate Musa Nadeem Ahmad in the 50-over squad, and Ahmad's younger brother Shariz Ahmad, a left arm spinner, was also named in the sixteen, while right-arm seamer Vivian Kingma returns from suspension.

The Netherlands' now-traditional availability issues have been compounded by injuries and retirements in the lead-up to the series, with opener Stephan Myburgh following Ben Cooper and Ryan ten Doeschate into retirement while Glamorgan's Timm van der Gugten and Gloucestershire's Paul van Meekeren are both out injured. Absent due to domestic commitments are Colin Ackermann, Shane Snater, Brandon Glover and Roelof van der Merwe of Leicestershire, Essex, Northamptonshire and Somerset respectively - all remaining with their counties in England. Otago's Michael Rippon similarly remains in New Zealand, leaving Kent left-arm seamer Fred Klaassen as the only overseas-based Dutchman flying in for the series.

Wellington seam all-rounder Logan van Beek (currently playing in the Netherlands Topklasse with Voorburg) will be available however, as will opener Max O'Dowd. Youngsters Aryan Dutt and Vikram Singh also retain their spots in the side alongside batting all-rounder Bas de Leede, left-arm spinner Clayton Floyd, right-arm quick Ryan Klein and leg-spinner Philippe Boissevain.
