Escape from Tarkov Releases Update 0.12.12.30 Patch Notes

Escape From Tarkov is no stranger to massive, game-changing content updates that feature additions both surprising and not. From relatively simple additions such as new armaments and items all the way to all-new mechanics, EFT fans know that the developer, Battlestate Games, isn't above keeping things secret, and something similar has happened with the game's latest new version.

Namely, Escape From Tarkov has just received the new 0.12.12.30 patch, which brought with it a slew of key changes to the meta, such as a slight revamp of its movement inertia system. There is, however, an entire armory's worth of new weapons introduces as well, alongside a substantial expansion of the Lighthouse map and a key multiplayer feature that will be greatly appreciated by the PvE-oriented portion of the community.

The new content update was hinted at by Escape From Tarkov's recent pre-wipe event, where players got inundated with loot wherever they turned. Now, however, the game's economy has been completely rebalanced and player progression entirely wiped. To slow players down, there are three new roaming Rogue bosses that will engage any player and NPC they come across on several of the game's maps, including the newly updated Lighthouse. Said bosses can use any of the available weapons while hunting for targets, including the new additions such as the H&K G36 and the AI AXMC marksman's rifle, making them particularly dangerous for unprepared players.

The three new Rogue bosses aren't the only new source of loot, however. Players can expect a substantially improved airdrop system, with 4 specific types of containers dropping at random. An airdrop can, however, be triggered through the use of the Flare Gun, though it's obvious that doing so will alert all the nearby players and NPCs to the user's location, underlining the fact that Tarkov truly is one of the most brutal survival games on the market.

While the wealth of new gear and functionality that's introduced with the new content update is sure to thrill the player base, it's still worth pointing out that EFT's long-awaited Streets level isn't available yet, and there doesn't seem to be a timeline for its release available, either. Low-spec players will, however, be happy to hear that Tarkov now also supports AMD's FSR upscaler, though it doesn't seem to include FSR 2.0 support, specifically.

Finally, Battlestate Games has also begun working on a dedicated offline co-op mode for Escape From Tarkov. The feature is, however, currently limited in scope as it does not save any progress made during cooperative offline runs, and it is only available for owners of the game's most expensive "Edge of Darkness" edition. It seems likely, then, that the newly announced Escape From Tarkov: Arena will launch before the dedicated offline co-op mode is fully developed.

Escape From Tarkov is now available exclusively on PC.
