Anyone considered making their own tracker?

Heya folks.

I'm part of a community with a specific interest in a unique file format for video playback.
We were considering a Direct Download website, but I'm wondering if it might be more feasible to set up a private tracker for our content instead.
There would be three main categories: source files (as high quality as possible for home viewing), converted videos, and ready-to-install content including collections/volumes/packs.
I like the look of the UNIT3D framework as seen on ReelFLiX and Lat-Team.
I've seen the way oldtoons.world has exploded and I'm reasonably confident this would be a good move for our community.
