This Man Built The Perfect Olaf From Frozen For His Grandson

Despite it being a little over a year after the film's release, Frozen is still very much a present thought in the hearts and minds of those that have seen it. With its position as the most buzzed about film of 2014, as well as the second most pirated flick of 2014, it's safe to say that Frozen isn't going away any time soon. Since winter just officially started a little over a week ago, it's beginning to look a lot like the perfect time to build a snowman, and a man in Wisconsin did just that for his grandson. But he didn't build just any snowman - he built everyone's favorite, summer obsessed snowman from the Disney smash hit.

People Magazine covered the story of Ralph Dixon, a Wisconsinite whose grandson wanted him to build a snowman. After some weather related setbacks and some hard work, Dixon surprised his grandson with a snow creature that's the spitting image of the Disney creation, and a little bit taller than the tyke who requested it. Looking at Ralph Dixon's snow creation, it's amazing how on-the-head he nailed his depiction of the Josh Gad-voiced snowman. In fact, it looks so good, you have to wonder how much time and energy went into building it so perfectly. Dixon could have just printed a picture, and sculpted the face into a perfect replica, but given the fact that he did this as a surprise for his grandson, he might have been inspired by his grandson's repeated viewings of Frozen to craft this special seasonal project. The best part about the whole story is that Ralph Dixon's success with his Olaf replica has inspired him to possibly craft more movie themed snowmen, starting with the Minions from Despicable Me.

With a new Frozen short on the way next spring, and snowman season just gearing up, this story is undoubtedly going to inspire more than a couple of copy cats who will be building snow tributes to the kids movie that refuses to go away.

This means that you non-Frozen fans are going to be in for quite a spell of discontent once Frozen Fever hits theaters in front of Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella adaptation next March. Still, you could think of it this way: there's no official plans for the second film yet, so you'll pretty much get a break from all of the hoopla starting March. In the meantime, we're going to sit here and wait for Ralph Dixon to start making Minions on his front lawn, because let's face it, Minions is going to be the next uber hit in chidren's entertainment when it drops next July.
