It’s a new year and Marvel isn’t holding back on heavily marketing their 2015 efforts. After a big push this week which saw a brand new series in Agent Carter premiere on ABC yesterday alongside the first trailer and poster release for Ant-Man, Marvel’s TV division is also beginning the campaign to promote their upcoming Netflix franchise.

Two different Marvel characters headline their own series in 2015 on Netflix beginning with Daredevil and followed by A.K.A. Jessica Jones (starring Krysten Ritter), the latter of which also introduces Luke Cage (Mike Colter) who will get his own series (likely) in 2016. As of today, Daredevil has an official premiere date of April 10, 2015, a little earlier than the initially reported May launch date.

Daredevil represents the launching point of a sub-universe with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel TV took to Netflix with a complete package of 60 episodes which includes four series followed by a crossover miniseries titled The Defenders. The shows all take place in Marvel’s fictionalized, crime-filled version of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. That crime is teased in the Daredevil motion poster up top.

Let’s hope the actual show avoids its titular character actually drawing out the double D logo like the Ben Affleck movie did. Not much has been revealed just yet on Daredevil but Marvel TV did bring the cast to New York Comic-Con in the fall where they debuted a few photos, footage and the official logo and synopsis.

Official Daredevil synopsis:

“Marvel’s Daredevil” is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.

Daredevil and the other New York characters who will form The Defenders will eventually show up in the films as well and some of them may even enlist as members of The Avengers. The timing of the series releasing lends them to potential cameos in The Avenger: Age of Ultron, and more likely, roles in 2016′s Captain America: Civil War. By then, all of the main title characters will have been cast so get ready for an even grander shared universe in the relative near future, beyond what’s on ABC. And if those whole Netflix experiment works for Marvel, there could be followup seasons and more excitingly, more characters on the small screen. We’re all looking at you, Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight.

Charlie Cox stars alongside Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Scott Glenn as Stick, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as The Kingpin, and Peter Shinkoda as original character Hachiro.

Daredevil premieres on Netflix in April 10, 2015.
