This morning, the XFM Breakfast Show with Jon Holmes had the world exclusive first play of the brand new Kaiser Chiefs single 'Falling Awake'.

Along with introducing the new track, band frontman Ricky Wilson chatted to Jon Holmes about what it's like touring with Foo Fighters. He recounted the following story about Dave Grohl:

Ricky: We had dinner the other night and I had to break the news to him that I'm on a television talent search contest. And I know that he's not the biggest fan of those things, but he goes 'I don't care if my friends are doing it'!"
Jon Holmes: Nice to know he's got double standards!
Ricky: The day I cease to have double standards is the day I cease to be!

He also chatted about releasing a 'standalone' track:

Ricky: We've never done this before, it seems popular doesn't it? People do it a lot.
Jon: Ye! What you're saying is you're jumping on a bandwagon?
Ricky: Ye, but people always do it and say it's a standalone single and then put it on their next record. In keeping with my double standards, we'll probably end up doing that.
Jon: So why wasn't it on the last one? Because it was written at the same time right?
Ricky: It was written right at the end of it just as I was starting to get out of the kind of like. because the last record, I'm not saying it was political, but it was quite, it had an edge to it, about has trying to survive. This was right at the end, and I think I was coming out of that, and it's almost a love song! We don't really write them! So we went into Sarm, you know where they did Band Aid, in Notting Hill, we went in there and we finished it. We had a really good time, and we thought, you know what, we've got the arena tour coming up so we thought we'll do it to coincide with the tour and have a bit of fun!
