Microsoft to Release Windows 10 Mobile Build 14322 This Week

Recommended Posts

Microsoft delayed the release of a new Windows 10 Mobile build last week because of a last-minute bug, and the company promised to launch it this week as soon as the issues are being fixed.

And despite the fact that the Windows team decided to hold back the release of a new Windows 10 build for PCs, Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has said that launching a mobile version is still very likely, explaining that it should land sometime this week.

He hasn’t provided any information aside from the fact that it could be build 14322, as this particular version is currently being evaluated internally to decide whether it can be pushed to the fast ring or not.

New features in this build

Screenshots that have gotten leaked in the last few days have revealed some of the improvements coming in this build, as Microsoft is trying to bring it in line with the latest versions released for PCs.

Windows 10 Mobile will get new Windows Update settings, including active hours to prevent the device from installing new updates when you are working on it. At the same time, it’ll also get a custom restart time setting to decide when to install the update despite active hours.

Some changes to the Action Center are also expected, as users will be allowed to move quick actions around and rearrange them in the menu using drag and drop. The lock screen will get a new camera icon to quickly launch the camera without having to unlock the phone.

Certainly, there will be many more features added in this build, and most should be detailed in the official announcement coming when Microsoft pushes the red button.

Keep in mind that this version is part of the Redstone branch and will be available only for devices that received the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade or shipped with it.
