A Live-Action Batman Beyond Movie? One Horror Actor Wants To Make It Happen

Few avenues of the DC lore have been explored more than Batman, but there's still plenty more story to tell. In fact, one clear element of the material that's ripe for adaptation is Batman Beyond, and Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey thinks he is the one to help bring that younger and more technologically-advanced version of The Caped Crusader to life. In a recent interview for his new film, Truth or Dare, Posey addressed his interest in working on a Batman Beyond movie and said:

I always got... Remember Batman Beyond? I loved Batman Beyond! That'd be fun, man. I don't want... I don't want to get too old before I got to pitch it.

Batman Beyond inherently requires a younger actor to tell its story, and at 26 years old, Tyler Posey thinks that the time is right for him to step in as Terry McGinnis. The actor apparently loved the show during its run -- which makes sense, as his age puts him in the prime demographic -- and it looks like that is the big-budget comic book franchise that he would love to jump to at some point. Now it is just a matter of getting the ball rolling before he ages out.

Batman Beyond is one of those properties that has become beloved by fans since its run back in the early 2000s. Initially taking place in the classic DC animated universe (though it was eventually folded into the main DC Comics continuity) Batman Beyond imagines a futuristic (almost Blade Runner-esque) version of Gotham City in which Bruce Wayne has been forced into retirement by age. Decades after hanging up the cape and cowl, he comes across a talented and brooding teenager named Terry McGinnis and begins to groom the young boy to take his place as the protector of the city.

Fans and Hollywood insiders alike have called for a Batman Beyond movie in the years since the show debuted, and one even almost happened at one point. Tyler Posey's remarks to Screen Rant make it clear that he considers himself the right person for the job if it ever comes together, but only time will tell if that project ever returns to the Warner Bros. radar and becomes a genuine possibility.
