Last year, Ninja Theory released the critically acclaimed game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for PS4 and PC. The game tackled mental illnesses like schizophrenia in a really unique and even uncomfortable way while under the guise of a Nordic tale with horror elements and puzzles. The acclaim and awards it received had many wondering when the game would come to Xbox One and luckily, we won’t have to wait long.

In April, Ninja Theory will release Hellblade on Xbox One with Xbox One X enhancements such as 4K and HDR. “Players [have] the choice of three enhanced modes to select from,” Ninja Theory explains. “Enhanced Visuals mode offers extra FX and visual quality throughout the experience, High Framerate mode runs the game at 60 frames per second, and High-Resolution mode runs the game with dynamic resolutions up to 4K.”

The game will cost $29.99 but those who pre-order will get a 10% discount as a thank you for being so patient, players can start playing the game on Xbox One on April 11th.

We praised the game for taking on such risky subject matter and its excellent execution that blends gorgeous visuals, haunting moments, and unique gameplay in an extraordinary way.

“The less you know, the better. All I can say is if you have a PS4 or a PC, this game is a must buy. Ninja Theory is doing something both feels familiar and wholly different from any other experience. If this year hadn’t already seen great releases like Breath of the Wild or Horizon Zero Dawn, I’d say without hesitation it was my Game of the Year. The fact that it’s in that discussion though is a monstrous achievement for Ninja Theory. When we talk about video games as art, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will now serve as a prime example of that.” said reviewer Tom Caswell
