The Forest of Liars is a vast, lush labyrinth known for its ethereal beauty, but no one who has ventured in has ever returned. According to legend, the forest’s heart hides countless mysteries and uncharted places that defy the imagination.

There, you will encounter secretive strangers who can assist you on your quest to reach the forest’s heart. The core of the game lies in your interactions with your traveling companions as well as the many decisions you will need to make in a world as beautiful as it is dangerous.

Your choices will guide you either to the breathtaking marvels of the forest or to an untimely and brutal death if you ignore the dangers that surround you. Follow your instincts, but heed the advice of your followers when you face down a new challenge.

Over the course of your travels, you will encounter numerous wayfarers who will offer their aid. But be wary of new friendships: certain fellow travelers may pose a danger to you and your followers through physical violence or through manipulation and lies. You will need to sort out the truth from the lies in the advice given by your companions in order to decide how to react to the many obstacles that stand between you and survival.

    Umeshu Lovers has launched their Forest Of Liars Kickstarter campaign, looking for 90,000 to round out its financing.

    Each supporter will receive a digital copy of the game as well as several bonus extras like the OST (Original Sound Track) and high definition versions of artwork from the game.

    A truly successful campaign will help Umeshu Lovers not only raise enough funds to make the game available on PC and Mac, but also on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

The crux of the gameplay rests on the balance you find with your travel companions. A good hunter may easily find and bring back food, but may keep everyone up at night with his snoring. A talented herbalist may be hiding a pyromania obsession that comes out only when the campfire is lit at night.

But these character flaws can be used to your advantage. Once you have determined with certainty that someone in your company is a liar, you can avoid getting caught in a trap by always doing the opposite of what he or she suggests.

With more than 75 different character features and more than 15,000 possible combinations, you will experience new and unexpected encounters every time you play.

The passage to the center of the forest is long, and survival is your watchword. Exploring your surroundings allows you to find food and make surprising discoveries. Certain paths are more dangerous than others and can quickly leave you with a nasty injury.

If you find that your exchanges have been merciful and filled only with exploration and contemplation, nightfall will bring new dangers where the choices you made during the day may help you face the threats that come for you in the dark.

Be on the lookout for signals from the forest to help you prepare for the inevitable battles you will face. Encountering a hungry grizzly will require a different course of action than confronting a band of gold-thirsty brigands.

With more than 100 different lands, you will discover new landscapes every time you play.

The Forest of Liars is as magnificent as it is dangerous. It is inhabited by innumerable bandits, wild beasts, and strange creatures. When facing down an enemy, you can choose to fight or handle the incident another way, relying on help from your cohort. Diplomacy and subterfuge will often help you extricate yourself from tricky situations with limited collateral damage.

At the end of your journey, you will face one of the Forest's guardians who will try to confound you with riddles. Consult with your companions to find the right answers.…as long as you have built up enough trust with them.

You will need to contend with five guardians in order to finally learn the true secret of the Forest of Liars.

Forest of Liars reinvents itself with every play, offering different events, encounters, and settings to explore every time. Each new adventure is unique to you! Every game is a chance to discover new situations and develop your talents as an explorer alongside a band of remarkable companions.

Forest of Liars will be available on PC/MAC at the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020.
