Warriors considering adding second-round pick in 2018 NBA Draft

Recommended Posts

With the Golden State Warriors locked in a tight Western Conference Finals series with the Houston Rockets, the bulk of the attention is (rightfully) on the postseason for the team.

But, owner Joe Lacob was at the recent 2018 NBA Scouting Combine to check out the incoming draft class and spoke with ESPN2 during the action. While there was obviously plenty for Lacob to talk about currently, he did reveal some of his thought process on the upcoming draft.

As 95.7 The Game revealed, the Warriors owner told ESPN that he was considering adding a second-round pick in the draft again this year.

"For us, it's (players drafted) 20 to 40 or 20 to 50. Those are the players that are here to some extend," Lacob explained. "And that's where we are - 28. Maybe we'll buy a second-round pick again. I'm very aggressive with respective to those, as you know."

This certainly wouldn't be a surprising move for the Warriors, as they've had some success with it in the past.

Just last offseason, Golden State acquired the rights to the No. 38 pick from the Bulls which brought Jordan Bell to town. The season before they landed Patrick McCaw from the Bucks and both players have obviously had an impact since coming to town.

Currently, the Warriors hold the No. 28 pick in the upcoming draft, which will be held on Thursday, June 21.
