ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Authorities in South Carolina say two escaped murder suspects remained at large Monday and one prisoner was recaptured following a weekend jailbreak.

Lexington County sheriff's deputies took 27-year-old Christopher Shannon Boltin into custody without incident on Sunday, news outlets reported, citing a release from Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

Boltin, 27-year-old Tyshon Demontrea Johnson and 20-year-old Curtis Ray Green overpowered a correctional officer at the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center on Saturday night and escaped, Ravenell said. The extent of the officer's injuries hasn't been reported.

Boltin was jailed on charges of carjacking and grand larceny, while Johnson and Green were charged with murder in separate incidents.

Johnson is one of three people charged with fatally shooting a 24-year-old man and injuring two others during a 2017 armed robbery, while Green is charged in the 2015 killing of a man whose truck was also stolen.

Johnson and Green are considered dangerous.

It's unclear whether Boltin has a lawyer.

An inmate serving a sentence for violation of probation escaped last year from the jail, which was built in 1967. County officials have approved the construction of a new $26 million jail.
