The first Saw was and probably still is one of the best movies of all times. :)

The rest were also good (the 2nd kind of silly, but the others very good) - none of them came close to the first one though.

I'm one of those people who enjoys a horror movie that makes me think and/or laugh. As much as I like well-executed gore, if that's all there is in a film, I tend to lose interest.

An American Werewolf in London

Black Christmas (1974)

Poltergeist

28 Days Later...

Pontypool

Session 9

Let the Right One In (2008)

Los Sin Nombre (aka The Nameless) - a spanish film from 1999: one of the most disturbing ideas for a movie I have seen in a while

Sauna (aka Filth) (2008) - finnish and russian movie: beautiful, haunting, and really creepy

The last one i saw that was pretty good was Insidious.

Alien is the all-time winner for me.

Gotta be the Friday the 13th series. Jason was always my favorite growing up. He's just a big unstoppable juggernaut..what's not to love?

Rosemary's Baby and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake (Yes, I saw the original, and while I don't think the remake is better, I like it better).

The Exorcist and Evil Dead 2 tied for 3rd.
