EasyJet passenger ‘headbutted air steward’

Recommended Posts

THIS is the moment an EasyJet passenger is pinned to the ground after apparently headbutting an air steward.

Cops could be seen dragging the man off the plane as chaotic scenes unfolded on the plane last night.

Witnesses have since revealed how tensions had started to mount when the flight, from Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport to Palma de Mallorca, was delayed for several hours last night due to air traffic restrictions.

Speaking to the Sun Online, one witness said: "Some people had drunk alcohol in the terminal while waiting for our flight."

It is understood that after passengers boarded the aircraft, four people were asked to leave the plane for acting disruptively.

But as cops escorted four people off the plane, a fifth man - who can be seen in the video - charged up the galley to apparently headbutt the air steward.

A witness said: "One of the men lost his patience and attacked the steward."

Passengers could be heard screaming as police, already at the scene, rushed onto the plane and pulled the man onto the ground.

He could be seen struggling with officers.

The air steward apparently head-butted could be seen rubbing his face.

The passenger told The Sun Online those on board were told to stay seated until the chaos subsided.

But she said it wasn't until 3am that they were told the plane wouldn't be leaving.

Instead, it was rescheduled for this morning - delayed for more than 13 hours overall.

Another passenger complained the "drunken" men had stopped the plane from taking off.

A easyJet spokesperson said: “easyJet is aware of this disruptive passenger incident onboard prior to take off which was extremely distressing for the crew and passengers onboard.

“The police were called to assist the crew in dealing with the incident and arrested the passenger.

“We will not tolerate threatening or violent behaviour towards our crew and will be pushing for prosecution.

“We are doing all possible to support the crew members who were subject to this unacceptable behaviour.

“The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority.”
