Kim Jong-un bans North Korean women from wearing fishnets and miniskirts

KIM Jong-un has banned women in North Korea from wearing fishnets and miniskirts in public.

Those caught flouting the laws will be fined £3 for “anti-socialist” behaviour.

The despot has also clamped down on “provocative” dance moves, dyeing hair to make it lighter, floral-patterned tights and clothes featuring words or phrases in English.

The resistance against Western influence comes despite a thawing of relationships between North Korea and the South and the US in recent months.

Supreme Leader Kim met with President Donald Trump in Singapore last month for landmark talks in which he discussed ditching nuclear weapons.

But the Daily NK website claims the North Korean authorities summoned high-ranking regional officials before the summit and “lectured on the subject of tightening the latch of socialism against the onslaught of foreign ideologies”.

Other acts banned by the regime include owning a foreign mobile phone, and watching or listening to South Korean movies, dramas or pop music.

The source added: “Provocative dancing refers to copying the dance moves of South Korean K-pop groups, which has been spreading in Pyongyang.

“A lot of young people have been paying for dance lessons.”

A researcher at a think tank in South Korea said: “After Kim ordered officials in December of last year to wage war against anti-socialist developments, crackdowns have been bolstered.

“The North is using its state-run media to instil ideological discipline and is implementing monthly crackdowns on violators.”
