Schoolboys 14 and 15 arrested for attempted murder

A TEENAGE boy was stabbed in the stomach with a kitchen knife yesterday evening.

Cops have arrested two boys, aged 14 and 15-year's-old, after he was stabbed multiple times at a house near Archway, north London.

Horrified onlookers pleaded with the attacker to stop before emergency services arrived at the scene.

Police found the 14-year-old victim with a number of stab injuries on Fairbridge Road at 6.50pm on Sunday.

He is now in a serious but stable condition after he was airlifted to a hospital and later joined by his family.

Cops originally arrested an 11-year-old boy, but he was released without charge last night.

A local resident said the attacker was not taller than her nine-year-old son.

Amina Taylor, 40, went to her balcony after hearing shouting, and saw two men and two young teens fighting for a "few minutes".

She told of how a third young teen ran towards them with a "big and cumbersome" weapon.

Amina said: "We could all see the knife in his hand. It was that big.

"You could hear the screams of 'No, stop it, don't do anything, don't be stupid' and he went for (one of the adults) first but then he was kind of swinging wildly and then he just thrust the knife into the stomach of the teenager."

An 11-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder is no longer a suspect, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

A cordon has been placed around Fairbridge Road, as an investigation has been launched.

The Met Police said: "At this early stage officers retain an open mind as to motive."

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the stabbing to contact them.
The 14-year-old is the latest victim in Lawless London's bloodshed as the knife crime epidemic continues to spiral in the capital.

Yesterday four people were knifed at the Garage Nation festival in East London, with two men airlifted to hospital.

Police have launched almost 80 murder investigations following stabbing incidents this year in London.

The rise in violence has been linked in some areas to the drugs trade, with a reported rise in county lines drug networks.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Fairbridge Road, Islington, N19 at 1850hrs on Sunday, 1 July to reports of an injured male.

Officers and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

"At the scene a 14-year-old boy was found suffering from a number of stab wounds. He was taken by Air Ambulance to an east London hospital. We await an update on his condition.

"The boy’s family is aware and with him at the hospital.

Officers from the Central North Command Unit arrested an 11-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder. Following initial enquiries the boy was de-arrested and released from custody. A crime scene remains in place.

"At this early stage police retain an open mind as to motive. Enquiries are ongoing."
