Top model agent reveals how his girls can earn £1,000 for just one picture

THE boss of Britain’s biggest celebrity model agency has lifted the lid on the glamour industry in a tell-all book.

Phil Green opens up about a world where girls can make thousands of pounds for a single shoot and mingle with the rich and famous — but in which they are constantly at risk from sleazebags and predators.

In Confessions Of A Model Agent he shares secrets from his 30 years in the business, launching the careers of pin-ups including twins Laura and Klaudia Badura, 28.

Phil, 51, admits: “It is a very, very glamorous and lucrative industry, but there is a dark side.

"Girls are increasingly finding themselves in dangerous situations.”

Phil founded his Supermodels agency in 1987 and went on to discover starlets who would carve out lucrative careers in other fields.

Former clients include Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, 45, Towie’s Lauren Pope, 35, Celebrity Big Brother’s Chantelle Houghton, 34, and 2016 Love Island winner Cara De La Hoyde, 27.

He admits women in the industry have always been targeted by celebrities and powerful men determined to bed a model.

The dad of one said: “There was one multi-millionaire football boss who summoned girls to his mansion for sex.

“He’d browse through newspapers and magazines and chose the girls he liked, then he’d contact photographers and find out what girls were in the studio, then he’d see if the girls would meet him.

“They’d turn up at his house and he’d greet them in his bathrobe and whisk them off to bed.

“He was a powerful man with lots of contacts in the industry, so sleeping with him meant the girl would be treated to designer handbags and shoes.

“Football clubs would invite models to parties too for some extra glamour.

"I remember some of the girls attended the Manchester United Christmas do and it was wild — there were all kinds of stories about footballers and Coronation Street stars cavorting.

“But it wasn’t just footballers.

"There was a top married England cricketer who had a secret fling with one of my girls, who was also about to get married herself.

“He met her in a club and afterwards they slept together.

"It was as much of a fantasy for her as it was him.

“Stars like Robbie Williams, Mick Hucknall and Simon Cowell — regulars in Stringfellows in the Noughties — knew sleeping with a model might mean a kiss and tell in the papers, but they loved it.”

But the industry has been transformed by the internet and, as a result, Phil believes aspiring starlets are even more vulnerable.

He explained: “It used to be just shoots, now a lot of work is done online.

"Some do webcam fetish work. One has a client who likes to hear about her smelly feet!

“Many are ‘influencers’ on Instagram, so clothing and make-up brands approach them.

“The twins Laura and Klaudia Badura have more than a million followers on Instagram and are paid £500 to £1,000 per image.”

But social media sites can allow members of the public to approach the girls directly.

Phil said: “All bookings used to be done via agents, so we’d try to work out if anyone was dodgy and only use reputable photographers.

"Now with direct messaging that isn’t always the case.”

The dangers were brought home in July last year when 21-year-old model and Instagram star Chloe Ayling was kidnapped on a fake photo shoot in Milan by crazed Lukasz Herba, 30.

She was kept in a farmhouse for six days and he sent chilling emails demanding £250,000 or she would be sold as a sex slave.

Londoner Chloe was eventually freed and last month Herba was jailed for 16 years for kidnap.

Phil, Chloe’s agent at the time, said: “I’m usually level-headed but when the ransom message came to me I froze to the spot, terrified.

“I liaised with the police, Chloe’s family and officials in Italy.

"When Chloe was released she spent several weeks in Italy and we spoke every day.

"I did all I could to help her during a frightening time.

“Models get lured into all kinds of dangerous situations.

"Even with my 30 years’ experience as an agent, it happened to Chloe — which was beyond my control.

"I do worry about the girls. I do everything I can to keep them safe and look after them.”
