Gal Gadot has a surprise role in Ralph Breaks the Internet, Disney's sequel to Wreck-It Ralph. Although Pixar gets most of the attention on the animated side of Disney's films, their own animated studio has been turning out multiple hits in recent years. One of those hits came in 2012 with the John C. Reilly-led arcade game movie. Despite the critical and financial success, Disney was slow to announce a sequel, but it's finally hitting theaters later this year.

Reilly once again will voice video game villain Ralph, while Sarah Silverman is reprising her leading role as Vanellope von Schweetz from the kid-friendly racing game Sugar Rush. The Wreck-It Ralph sequel trailers for the film tease the internet setting for Ralph Breaks the Internet, but there is still plenty we don't know. That appears to be the film's full cast, as Disney just announced another major addition.

Disney announced that Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has a role in Ralph Breaks the Internet. She will play Shank, "a tough and talented driver in an intense and gritty online racing game called Slaughter Race." Disney offered up a look at the character, too, which can be seen below comments by co-director Rich Moore and Gadot herself.

Moore: She is the coolest character in this world of Slaughter Race. Shank’s lived a lot, she’s seen a lot, yet she’s got nothing but kindness in her heart - that’s the duality of that character.

Gadot: Shank is amazing at driving cars and has this bad-girl vibe to her. But as the movie goes on you realize how fun, wise and warm she really is on the inside, which is what I like most about her.

The involvement of Gadot is another major get for Disney for Ralph Breaks the Internet's voice cast. They managed to get most of the original voices of their Disney princesses to return for a huge crossover scene. Just recently, a new look at the Disney princesses in Ralph Breaks the Internet was revealed, showing a new side to the classic characters. The movie also marks Gadot's very first voice role as she lends her talents to Shank. Her addition just gives the marketing team another high profile name to include throughout the marketing, as the sequel also features Taraji P. Henson voicing Yesss.

When it comes to who Gadot is playing and how she is involved, Shank looks and sounds like a great new character. Ralph and Vanellope will meet Shank during their online adventure, which they have taken to try to find a replacement part for Sugar Rush. This will lead to Vanellope and Shank facing off in a street race online, with Gadot's character being impressed with what she sees. Writer and co-director Phil Johnston likens Shank to the big sister figure for Vanellope, after Ralph is the big brother. Hopefully there's much more of Shank than just this one sequence, so audiences get to experience quite a bit of Gadot's Ralph Breaks the Internet role.
