Nokia announced on Twitter that during an event next Tuesday it will release what it calls “one of the most awaited phones”. While that sounds semi-mysterious, we’re quite sure that the new device will be company’s new flagship phone, the Nokia 9.

Unless Nokia pulls a fast one on us, we should see the latest smartphone carrying the Snapdragon 845, along with all the goodies that come with it. Some rumors have put an OLED display on the device, which, if true, might put it close to the Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone X not only quality wise, but when it comes to price as well.

Another cool feature it’s expected to have is an in-display fingerprint sensor. While those can already be found on a few devices, the new Nokia handset might be the one that will push the feature to the mainstream market.

A big factor for the success of the device will be its camera. When people are paying a premium price, they expect the best on all fronts, so we’re eager to see what Nokia will offer us. Two main cameras are almost a given these days, but will we see three? We’ll have to wait until Tuesday, because the Nokia 9 is a surprisingly well kept device when it comes to leaks.

Same as all Nokia branded phones from HMD Global, the Nokia 9 will also be running pure Android, and given the release date it should come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. If the engineers did their jobs right, the new Nokia could be a real heavy-hitter. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to find out exactly what there’s in store for us.
