Ariana Grande denies demanding to be carried around

Ariana Grande denied an old rumour that she makes her staff carry her around during her appearance on Carpool Karaoke on Wednesday (15Aug18).

In late 2014, rumours surfaced suggesting that the Side to Side hitmaker was such a diva that she demanded her team carry her around after she posted two snaps on Instagram showing her being transported in somebody's arms.

She addressed the speculation during her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday, explaining that they were blown out of proportion and that she was only being carried in those pictures because she was injured.

"I had just shot a video in pointe shoes, and I posted (the photo) because I thought it was cute," she explained. "Like, my toes were bleeding and I was in pain, and I was like, 'Oh, that's cute, thank you'... No, that's so stupid! Are you crazy?!"

She then played up to the rumour by getting a piggyback from James as they paid a visit to a Starbucks, where she ordered a grande soy latte. She remained on his back during the entire visit and poked fun at herself with the customers.

"Hello, I'm Ariana Grande. I must be carried," she joked. "Did you know that I demand to be carried everywhere? That is the kind of popstar I am. I just want y'all to know. If you see me anywhere, it's because I didn't walk there myself, I promise. Bye!"

During their Carpool Karaoke session, the 25-year-old sang hits including God Is a Woman, No Tears Left to Cry and Dangerous Woman as well as covering Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now, in which she mimicked Celine's voice, and Suddenly Seymour from musical Little Shop of Horrors.

When asked what the craziest rumour she'd heard about herself was, Ariana, who is engaged to comedian Pete Davidson, said, "There's tonnes of pregnancy stuff. People really want me to be pregnant. They want it. They want it so bad. Every other week there's a pregnancy thing."

Before the segment aired, Ariana told fans they would see how she injured her hand during its filming. However, her hand was bandaged the entire time and it was not acknowledged, so it is still unclear exactly what happened.
