Wetherspoon’s reveals it will ban dogs from pubs across the UK

JD WETHERSPOON'S plans to BAN dogs from all of its pubs across the UK from September 10.

Even though technically the pub chain banned pets back in 1979, some branches continued to allow "some exceptions".

But now, man's best friend will be barred from entering Wetherspoon's for good and they won't be able to use the gardens either.

The blanket ban is being blamed on hard-working staff being fed up with cleaning up dog poo from the premises, an employee told SomersetLive.

A Wetherspoon's spokesperson told The Sun that the decision was also partly down to dogs being unpredicatable, especially around young children.

He said: "We welcome a lot of children and families and younger children in particular can be unpredictable around dogs and many are scared of dogs.

"After much consultation, we will now be strictly enforcing this [no dogs] policy everywhere.

"In order to give those affected time to adjust we have set a deadline of Monday, September 10, 2018."

Of course, all branches will still allow assistance dogs in with their owners.

'Spoons boss Tim Martin has promised lower prices at his chain of pubs after a "no deal" Brexit.

The pub has also raised the stakes by adding halloumi fries to the menu and they cost £3 each.

Although prices at JD Wetherspoon can vary by up to 60 per cent based on where you drink, even if the pubs are just a few hundred meters
