Battlefield V Pre-Orders 85% Behind Black Ops 4, May Put EA “At Risk”

Battlefield V is one of the most anticipated games of this year, however, the pre-orders for the game are reportedly very weak and according to a new report, Battlefield V pre-orders are 85% behind Black Ops 4 and these weak pre-orders might put EA at risk.

This is according to analyst Doug Creutz who noted that Battlefield V will be a serious disappointment and is lagging far behind Black Ops 4, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

If we had to pick one game to be a casualty of the crowded October window, this would clearly be it.

The analyst noted that Battlefield V pre-orders are 85% behind Black Ops 4 which compared to previous entries in the franchise are the worse pre-order numbers.

Doug noted that Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 were between 20 and 40 percent behind their competition at the time while Battlefield 1 was actually ahead of Call of Duty “at this point before launch”.

This is very far off the tracking levels of previous Battlefield titles in 2011, 2013, and 2016. With a release date directly in between CoD and RDR, we worry that BFV could be headed for a similar fate as 2016’s Titanfall 2, which got squeezed out by its launch date directly between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Battlefield V pre-orders being weak might be due to the fact that one of the EA’s execs suggested not to buy the game following the backlash at the game’s reveal.

We stand up for the cause, because I think those people who don’t understand it, well, you have two choices: either accept it or don’t buy the game. I’m fine with either or. It’s just not ok.
