The Division 2 Special Editions Give You More Storage Space If You Pay More

As with every high-profile video game release, the Division 2 special editions are apparently going to be giving you more space to store your weapons along with any other cool toys that they might be wanting to get. This has apparently rubbed a number of players the wrong way.

Storage space is one of the biggest issues with shared-world shooters like The Division and Destiny, both of which rely on players running through missions with their friends and collecting various pieces of gear to make powerful builds that they can use in harder missions.

However, save enough of those in your vault and you’ll eventually run out of space and have to delete gear to make room.

The Division 2 special editions advertising more storage space if you buy one of them, therefore, can definitely run some people the wrong way, as it’s the same sort of thing that was criticized about microtransactions: nickel-and-diming people for things that should be part of the game by default.

The extra vault space being limited to those who buy a certain tier of game just means that Ubisoft is trying to wring every bit of money out of the game’s fanbase that they, something that a lot of players might not appreciate especially if they enjoy having a lot of loot that can be used to cover the basics of high-tier missions.

We don’t even know what people who buy the standard editions of the game are going to be getting in terms of storage space, but still, the fact that people who spend more money get more space is worth getting mad about, especially when we’ve had a lot of fuss about microtransactions this year in the wake of Battlefront 2.

Ubisoft may release some sort of statement about why the Division 2 special editions are getting more storage space and what they intend to do about it, but for now we’ll just have to see how it turns out. The Division 2 will be coming out on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on March 15 of 2019.
