The group's next studio project had previously carried the titles 'The Best Years Of Our Lives' and 'PUPPY'

Brockhampton have announced that their upcoming new album, now titled ‘Iridescence’, will be out in September.

This is the third name change that the California group’s next studio project has received this year. The release was initially called ‘PUPPY’, before the name of the record was changed to ‘The Best Years Of Our Lives’ back in June. The project will serve as the follow-up to ‘SATURATION III’, which was released in December 2017.

The boy band took to Twitter late last night (August 26) to formally announce that their next studio album will now be called ‘Iridescence’, while promising that the long-awaited record will finally drop next month. A subtitle, ‘Made in London’, suggests that major parts of the forthcoming record were recorded in the capital.

The group’s de facto leader Kevin Abstract accompanied the news with the short description “brand new music, brand new feelings”, before explaining to fans why the project had had its name changed once again.

Brockhampton have officially released three singles – ‘1999 WILDFIRE’, ‘1998 TRUMAN’ and ‘1997 DIANA’ – since announcing their fourth studio project.

Brockhampton concluded their inaugural European tour over the weekend with a pair of sets at Reading & Leeds. On Saturday (August 25), the group joined N.E.R.D. on the Main Stage at Reading at the request of Pharrell Williams – just a few days after the musician invited Brockhampton to join them during a festival slot in Paris.
