The band have yet to announce additional dates for their final live shows

Slayer‘s last-ever tour will run until the end of 2019, the band have confirmed.

The thrash metal titans previously confirmed they would be quitting live shows after one last run of dates, but have only announced one additional concert so far. They will headline France’s Hellfest Open Air on June 23, 2019.

In a new press release, the group have said the response in North America has persuaded them to extend the tour. “We always knew this tour would take us into 2019,” guitarist Kerry King said. “We’ve been blown away by the response we’ve been getting here in North America.

“We’ve heard about fans who have driven five, six hours, or flown in from other cities or countries to see us, so we want to assure our fans that we’ll be on the road through 2019 and will get to as many places around the world as possible to make it easier for everyone to come and see us one last time.”

Slayer completed the second North American leg of their last-ever tour yesterday (August 26) in San Jose, California. Next year, they will perform in South America, Australia, and Japan. “There will be more – plenty more,” they added. “2019 is 12 months long and the world is a big place.”

“I just want to take the time out to say thank you to all our fans who have made this first part of this tour phenomenal,” said singer and bassist Tom Araya. “You really are loyal and dedicated fans and we appreciate that so much from you. We still have quite a few places to play, so next year, keep your eyes and ears open so you can catch us live one last and final time. Again, thank you!”

Slayer’s last-ever tour will arrive in the UK and Ireland in November when they play Dublin’s 3Arena, before hitting six other cities. Remaining tickets for the dates are available here.

Slayer will play:

Dublin, 3Arena (November 1)
London, SSE Arena Wembley (3)
Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena (5)
Birmingham, Arena Birmingham (7)
Manchester, Manchester Arena (9)
Newcastle, Metro Radio Arena (10)
Glasgow, SSE Hydro (12)

Meanwhile, a Slayer fan attempted to swim back into the band’s recent show in Toronto after he was kicked out.

Chris LaRocque was removed by security at the Budweiser stage during the opening act and was caught on camera by Anthrax’s Scott Ian trying to make his way back into the venue via water.
