You can now get your photo taken with a brand new Beatles statue in Liverpool

The Fab Four have been immortalised in their hometown again

A new Beatles statue has been unveiled in their hometown of Liverpool.

The Fab Four have been immortalised again in a new piece situated on Mathew Street, where the Cavern Club and the Liverpool Wall Of Fame are located, as well as statues of John Lennon and Cilla Black.

The new statue joins numerous others of The Beatles that are dotted around their hometown, including life-size figures at Pier Head and those on top of the Hard Day’s Night Hotel. According to the Liverpool Echo, the new piece can be found just inside the entrance of the Rubber Soul Complex.

Jimmy Boland, the complex’s general manager, told the paper: “We have had tourists, stags, hens as well as locals passing popping into the entrance for pictures. From young to old. We feel it is yet another addition to this great street in the city centre.”

The latest Beatles statue sees the Fab Four positioned around a bench with space for fans to sit and have their photo taken next to them.

Meanwhile, a new video for ‘Back In The U.S.S.R.’ was released earlier this month (November 7), ahead of last week’s (November 9) release of a reissue of ‘The White Album’, celebrating 50 years of the iconic album.

The new edition of the double record was released in a series of “lavishly presented” packages with new mixes of its 30 tracks. It also included 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session tracks, with many never officially released before.

Earlier this year, Paul McCartney revealed he has to relearn classic Beatles songs before heading out on tour because he can’t remember how to play them. “There’s too many,” he said. “Too many words. Too many notes. They’re very hard. I mean, you know, it’s not like they’re all three chords.”
