Marvel has unveiled new figures from their partnership with Funko for the forthcoming Venom: Let There Be Carnage giving a new tease of the titular villain symbiote. Set a year and a half after the events of the 2018 film, the story centers on investigative journalist, Eddie Brock, as he struggles to live with an increasingly-manic Venom. He then must face off against serial killer, Cletus Kasady, as he becomes the host for the symbiote Carnage and go on a rampage. The cast for the film will see the returns of Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson in the titular roles, alongside Michelle Williams and the introduction of Stephen Graham to the series.

First released in October 2018, Venom received generally negative reviews from critics but was a box office smash, helping launch the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters with other entries including next year's Morbius, a Kraven the Hunter film and others. The mid-credits sequence for the Hardy-led film saw the introduction of Harrelson's Kasady, setting up his proper role as the antagonist in the sequel after the creative team elected to save him for a follow-up. After numerous release delays due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Let There Be Carnage is now slated to finally hit theaters on September 24.

Marvel and Funko unveiled two new Pop figures tied to the release of the sequel based on both Venom and Carnage's design in the film. In addition to the Pop iteration of the figure, Walmart will carry a jumbo 10-inch version of the Carnage design. Both figures can be viewed below:

Whether this week's first trailer for the sequel wowed or disappointed viewers, all can certainly agree that the design of Carnage in the film is a faithful take on the character that proves very menacing. Though the manufacturer has put out plenty of legitimately terrifying figures, including Bill Skarsgård's Pennywise from It, the new figure of Carnage might be one fans can give themselves nightmares with by keeping it on their shelves. But even if fans don't elect to pick up their own copy of the figure, it at least offers another exciting glimpse at the villainous alien symbiote for the sequel.

What this week's trailer has indicated to audiences is — at the very least — Hardy, director Andy Serkis, and writer Kelly Marcel are trying to improve and fix the criticisms coming from the first film, from the inclusion of the titular villain to a seemingly-darker vibe. Plus, with Hardy reportedly signed on to star in one more film and having helped with the story on the sequel, it would certainly be nice to see his efforts not be in vain. For now, fans will have to wait just four more months until Venom: Let There Be Carnage finally crashes into theaters.
