A new piece of The Batman tie-in merchandise reveals the best look at Robert Pattinson's Batsuit. Following a tumultuous production process due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Matt Reeves project eventually finished filming and is now in post-production. That also means that Warner Bros. is gearing up to properly begin marketing the project as evidenced by tie-in items popping out.

Specific plot details for the movie are still under wraps, but Reeves has been more than generous in offering information about the overall setting of The Batman. The movie will see Bruce Wayne in his second year as the Caped Crusader. It's also been revealed that the blockbuster would explore the corruption in Gotham how the Waynes supposedly connect to all of this. It's worth noting, however, that the events of the movie will be separate from the main DCEU. Instead, it will reportedly be on Earth-2 despite initially being a project for Ben Affleck's Bat of Gotham.

Shared by Reddit user with the handle u/TheLoganDickinson is an image for the tie-in The Batman calendar which features Pattinson's Caped Crusader on the cover. It offers the best look at his Batsuit (at least from the waist up) thus far, with the lighting highlighting the details in its chest piece all the way to the shoulder pads and cowl. Check it out below:

Pattinson and Reeves' collaboration also boasts a star-studded ensemble that includes Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. While it will be separate from the main DCEU continuity, it would allow The Batman to create its own shared universe, with its HBO Max spinoff Gotham P.D. already in development. Considering how early the film is set in the titular character's arc, chances are that Pattinson will inhabit the character for several years which would allow Warner Bros. to tell an overarching narrative.

This is also the reason why this version of Bruce Wayne can eventually debut a brand new Batsuit at the end of The Batman. At this point in his personal journey as the Bat of Gotham, he supposedly feels helpless as his efforts are not nearly enough to instigate the change he wants to see in Gotham. As he goes through the trials and tribulations set on his path by the Riddler, who's tipped to be the primary villain of the story, chances are that he will emerge as a better version of the superhero he wants to be. In any case, considering his unlimited resources, it makes sense for the Bat of Gotham to keep on updating his armor.
