Exactly. Even after AC4, Rogue is still classical, and Unity was okayish for me.

However, the worst offenders are Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.

Has anyone played the new Assassin's Creed set in Arabic world, they say this one is a return to roots?

Yes, but on the downside, they say it's just one city, a bit unambitious after last entries.

Why don't they just remake the original Assassin's Creed, it already had 3 cities, plus it could be easily expandable with DLC, lots of other interesting cities around Jerusalem: Tripoli, Antioch, Cairo, Cyprus ...

EDIT: Another idea I just had, that would present a breakthrough in the series. One city or small region, but in multiple periods (medieval, 18th century, 20th century ...), ability to jump back and forth between characters in these periods (members of same family) and actions in previous period have consequences in later.
