Waltz with Bashir: An Israeli film director interviews fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon to reconstruct his own memories of his term of service in that conflict.

The Expanse for some sci-fi with a focus on actual physics and political relations

Firefly for some short and playful sci-fi with interesting and fleshed out characters

House of the Dragon if you liked the first four seasons of Game of Thrones

The Last of Us for a compelling story

And if you haven't seen it yet: Chernobyl, that's just a must-watch!

While I can't describe it as eloquently as a non-native speaker, I have to disagree. I found the plot, the most important element of a series/movie, not very compelling.
Based on the review, it doesn't seem to have been a hindrance that I hadn't seen the first two seasons. Therefore, Star Trek: Picard felt more like an excuse to showcase the cast of the earlier series and evoke nostalgia in the older demographic. This was underscored by a plot that confirmed to that viewership that they haven't had their day yet and are still ahead of the next generation. Kinda cringe tbh.
