While I can't describe it as eloquently as a non-native speaker, I have to disagree. I found the plot, the most important element of a series/movie, not very compelling.
Based on the review, it doesn't seem to have been a hindrance that I hadn't seen the first two seasons. Therefore, Star Trek: Picard felt more like an excuse to showcase the cast of the earlier series and evoke nostalgia in the older demographic. This was underscored by a plot that confirmed to that viewership that they haven't had their day yet and are still ahead of the next generation. Kinda cringe tbh.
