Dua Lipa was planning her third album before her debut. The 'Illusion' hitmaker is set to drop new LP 'Radical Optimism' on May 3, and the idea of the record being produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker goes back to before she finished work on her 2017 self titled LP. Dua, 28, told Time100 magazine: "I remember when I was working on my first album, I was making notes on what my third album was going to be. "It's mad to think about, but I remember speaking to my close friend and A+R Joe, 'Maybe album three, I could work with Kevin Parker', and he was like, 'Alright, hold your horses, let's take baby steps.' " However, Dua was already full of ambition and was planning for her first two albums to prove she was "deserving to be in a room" with someone respects "so deeply". She added: "Since I was very little, I've jotted down things I dreamt for myself. I've always planned ahead. "Although surprises arise that I evaluate in the moment, there's always been a long-term goal." She is a big believer in "manifesting" your goals, and she encouraged people to write their dreams down to help make them come true. She explained: "It's important to just write things down, you never know what could come true. Manifesting is a big thing for me. "Subconsciously, you just work towards them. Nothing's too big." The singer and actress has evolved as an artist and person since her debut seven years ago, and her latest single is an example of that development. The Beatles' iconic documentary film 'Let It Be' is set to be made available on Disney+ for the first time in more than 50 years. Helmed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, the original 1970 film – which was released in tandem with the 12th and final studio album by the ‘Penny Lane’ hitmakers - will be on the streaming platform from May 8, 2024, after years of fans struggling to watch it and having to make do with bootleg versions. The film shows the band working on the seminal LP in January 1969 at London’s Twickenham Film Studios and was released one month before the legendary Liverpool group met its demise, and it has been fully restored with more context coming to light following Peter Jackson’s 2021 Disney series, 'The Beatles: Get Back', with unseen footage in the new film. Lindsay-Hogg says the timing of the release “very much darkened the perception of the film,” and he says fans will see the “joy and happiness” when the band took to Apple Corps on Savile Row for rehearsals and the iconic rooftop concert that became their final performance as a group. Apple Corps got Jackson’s Park Road Post Production to "dive into a meticulous restoration of the film from the original 16mm negative," and used the same technology used in the 'Get Back' series. Lindsay-Hogg commented: "Let It Be was ready to go in October/November 1969, but it didn’t come out until April 1970. One month before its release, The Beatles officially broke up. And so the people went to see ‘Let It Be’ with sadness in their hearts, thinking, ‘I’ll never see The Beatles together again. I will never have that joy again,’ and it very much darkened the perception of the film. But in fact, there’s a great deal of joy and happiness and creation going on, and ‘Let It Be’ is – especially when you get to the roof, and you see the exchange and the way that they look at each other – essentially a happy and ‘up’ movie. I was knocked out by what Peter was able to do with ‘Get Back,’ using all the footage I’d shot 50 years previously.” Jackson added: “I’m absolutely thrilled that Michael’s movie, ‘Let It Be,’ has been restored and is finally being re-released after being unavailable for decades. "I was so lucky to have access to Michael’s outtakes for 'Get Back,’ and I’ve always thought that ‘Let It Be’ is needed to complete the ‘Get Back’ story. Over three parts, we showed Michael and The Beatles filming a groundbreaking new documentary, and ‘Let It Be’ is that documentary – the movie they released in 1970. I now think of it all as one epic story, finally completed after five decades. Cixin Liu’s 3 Body Problem trilogy was considered unadaptable, but D.B. Weiss, David Benioff and Alexander Woo did it for Netflix. Even though Season 1 is streaming, that doesn’t mean they’ve solved Season 2. The trio joined Deadline’s Contenders TV event Sunday to discuss the adaptation, and Weiss explained why continuing the show poses even more creative problems.“This kind of eases you into the world of the story but the story gets really wild in the best possible way,” Weiss said. “With something that’s that wild, there are a lot of choices to be made and a lot of things to be figured out. We’ve been putting our heads together to figuring them out recently especially the past couple months.” 3 body problem involves scientists from around the world discovering a virtual reality video game which leads them to another intergalactic species. The story spans past and present. The globalization of the adaptation marks a change from the books, which focused on China. “Out of necessity we needed to be the cast mostly speaking English,” Woo said. “The Chinese flashbacks were very much intact. It afforded us an opportunity to tell a very global story. Humanity either comes together or doesn’t come together to face an existential threat.” There are still very many scientific concepts and historical backstories relevant to 3 Body Problem. Weiss said the show had to find different ways to explain those that Liu employed in the books. “You don’t want people to be pushing pause and hitting Wikipedia every five minutes,” Weiss said. “You could do the version of that that makes people do that but it pulls people out of it. In the book, he’s explaining all this stuff to you anyway in writing. It was a challenge that was ultimately what drew us to the project to begin with.” As complex as the story and science was, Weiss said 3 Body Problem still employed some good old fashioned dialogue-based drama. Weiss pointed to a scene between Jonathan Pryce and a voice on a speaker. “Jonathan has a long conversation in a small room with a disembodied voice on a 1950s dictaphone speaker about the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood,” Weiss said. “That scene is every bit as much of what I love about this story as any of the bigger stuff.” In addition to cracking the adaptation, the show had to cast actors to embody Liu’s characters. Benioff said Benedict Wong and John Bradley were their first choices. Zine Tseng had to audition on an international Zoom with a bad connection, but weathered technical issues to land her role. “I think a lot of people would have just been broken by that,” Benioff said. “How do you maintain that intensity again and again?”

Don Mancini, creator of Chucky, is discussing a potential fourth season and has an idea of where to take the show despite not knowing what the future holds for it. The Syfy and USA Network show is currently airing the backend episodes of Season 3, and the networks have not confirmed if the show will have a Season 4. “There’s very little I can say about that. I can’t tell you my idea for Season 4, but I’m really excited about it. I already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because it’s something I really like to do,” Mancini said in an interview. Mancini teased that if a fourth season were to happen, the storyline would take another left turn. “I think it’s really fun, new, and again, another left turn in terms of what we’ve been doing so far,” he said. “We don’t know the status of the show yet. So again, fingers crossed that we will get picked up, right?” Devon Sawa, who plays U.S. President Collins in the series, is hopeful that the show will continue. “Yeah, I’m optimistic. I’m optimistic. I’ve heard a little bit of the season unless it’s changed. But again, it’s Don [Mancini] raising the bar,” Sawa said. The Chucky series serves as a sequel to Cult of Chucky and follows a 14-year-old, played by Jake Wheeler, who buys a Good Guy doll at a yard sale, not knowing the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray possesses it. Season 3 of the series was split in two as production was interrupted due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes last summer. In celebration of BACK TO BLACK, the highly anticipated film which charts the life and music of Amy Winehouse, a result of a nationwide poll to find the UK’s favourite Amy Winehouse songs was announced today. With thousands of votes cast online, and promoted by an installation that toured Manchester, Glasgow and London, “BACK TO BLACK” was chosen as the UK’s favourite Amy Winehouse song. This was followed closely by “TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN”, one of six tracks from the album Back To Black that featured in the Top 10, alongside “LOVE IS A LOSING GAME”, “ME & MR JONES” and “REHAB”. Songs such as “F*&K ME PUMPS” and “STRONGER THAN ME” from Winehouse’s debut album Frank were also hugely popular, as well as lesser known tracks from the posthumously released Lioness, including “BETWEEN THE CHEATS” and her cover of the Shirelles’ classic, “WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW?”.
