iPhone X power users will be happy to know that the first Mophie battery case is in the pipeline, according to a promising new leak. The Mophie Juice Pack Air capacity is 1,720mAh and adds 9 hours of battery life to your iPhone X, reports 9to5Mac picking up on an early AT&T product listing. There are other iPhone X battery cases out there, but Mophie's adds support for the Qi charging standard, allowing you to wireless charge your phone and case.

The Razer Phone isn’t the only smartphone on the market that’s tuned especially for gamers. Xiaomi has backed a company called Black Shark to launch the aptly named Black Shark phone. Upon first glance, it definitely looks to have the LED-obsessed gamers taken care of with neon green trimming around the phone frame and on back. As another nod, it even possesses an integrated liquid cooling system to keep it running cool while playing your favorite games, like PUBG Mobile or Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition – though modern phones don’t have much trouble running the cream of the crop at max fps. Behind the Black Shark phone’s 6-inch 2,160 x 1,080 resolution LCD display that’s stretched to an 18:9 aspect ratio, you’ll find a Snapdragon 845 processor that’s backed by 6GB of RAM and a rather measly 64GB of storage. Does it beat Razer's phone? Since the Razer Phone is, more or less, the one to beat at this point with its smooth 120Hz, quad HD display, how does Black Shark stack up? Well, it certainly wins in a few key areas, but loses big in others. The benchmarks prove that the Snapdragon 845 is quite a bit faster and more efficient than last year’s Snapdragon 835 – thus putting the Black Shark phone above Razer’s maximum clock speed – but the latter 2017 phone packs in 8GB of RAM and microSD support that bests Black Shark’s efforts. If you have the opportunity of choosing between the two, the Razer Phone might be the better overall value, but for most outside of China, getting the Black Shark phone will be tough to find. But if you do, it should be cheaper than the $699 (£699, about AU$897) Razer Phone, coming in at 2999 yuan, or about $477 (about £334, AU$612).

Cheap phone brand Wileyfox has officially relaunched with its new website going live today offering a trio of low-cost smartphone deals. Last month TechRadar exclusively revealed that troubled mobile brand Wileyfox would return this year with new phones and a renewed customer support service thanks to STK Mobile taking over control. Now TechRadar can exclusively reveal that the first step towards the new Wileyfox experience has gone live with a new website today. Free action camera and Echo Dot To celebrate its return, there are three deals running on the new Wileyfox website, with the first giving you a free Amazon Echo Dot when you buy the Wileyfox Swift 2 X for £199.99. Considering the Swift 2 X originally launched in 2017 for £219.99, and the Echo Dot is £49.99 from Amazon, it's a great looking deal. That's not all though, as the Wileyfox Spark Plus price has dropped to £99.99 (saving £20), and you can nab yourself a free Kaiser Baas X90 action camera if you pick up the Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus for £189.99. None of these phones are new, but we know there will be more to come from the brand as we've had confirmation that STK will produce new Wileyfox models this year.

Disney/Pixar has released a new trailer for this summer’s Incredibles 2. While the studio’s dabbling in sequels has been relatively hit or miss with audiences, one property moviegoers have been desperate to return to is The Incredibles. A long 14 years ago, Brad Bird introduced viewers to the Parr family and gave Hollywood one of its finest additions to the superhero genre. The film was a phenomenal success, grossing $261.4 million domestically and winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature – among many other accolades. After years of pent up demand, Bird finally announced he’d be returning to the world of The Incredibles a few years ago, and the project is finally on the horizon. Pixar has put together a small marketing campaign to this point, most notably with a teaser that set the stage for the basic plot of the movie. But now, with just a couple of months to go until Incredibles 2 makes its way into theaters, the advertising efforts are going to increase exponentially. As usual, a new wave of marketing kicks off with a new preview, which you can watch above. The trailer continues to emphasize that the main crux of the narrative is Helen Parr, Elastigirl, taking a new job at telecommunications company DevTech. Run by Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk), their goal is to help supers return to their former glory as public figures and icons. Remember, in the Incredibles universe, superheroes are illegal, but there are those interested in changing that law. The specifics of Helen’s mission are unknown at this point in time, but it’s clear Incredibles 2 isn’t downplaying the stakes. Elastigirl has the future of all supers riding on her shoulders, as her success will give her children the ability to make an important choice later in their lives. With Helen away on a business trip, Bob Parr has to be a stay-at-home dad and watch the kids. Incredibles 2 marketing has assured viewers this is where a lot of the film’s humor will come from, since Mr. Incredible appears to be a bit over his head when it comes to parenting. This isn’t to say he’s a bad father, he’s just a little overwhelmed. Between Dash’s homework, Violet dealing with teenager drama (“Is she having adolescence?”), and Jack Jack’s evolving powers, there looks to be enough material there to carry its own movie. A key component of the Incredibles brand is mixing jaw-dropping action with “normal” family home life, so it’s nice to see Bird is maintaining that element for the followup. Hopefully, the Parrs come out of Incredibles 2 as an even stronger clan. This trailer also gives audiences their first look at the new Incredibles 2 villain, a mysterious figure who calls himself the Screen Slaver. His arrival seems to be the catalyst for Mr. Incredible jumping back into action, and Frozone is more than happy to come along for the ride. As he gets ready to suit up, we hear the voice of his wife Honey again, promising another hilarious scene between the two that will hopefully rival “Where’s my super suit?” when we see it in full. At this stage in the game, Incredibles 2 looks like it will be worth the 14-year wait and be another memorable outing for Pixar. KEY RELEASE DATES The Incredibles 2 release date: Jun 15, 2018

Sony’s God of War is already being heralded as a much-needed reboot to the long-running franchise, and now the studio’s creative director is thanking George Miller for making it better. Early reviews suggest that God of War could be one of PS4’s best games to date, and just like Miller did with Mad Max: Fury Road, it put some more gas back in the tank. Taking on Greek and Norse gods with blades and axes may sound a million miles away from the apocalyptic roads of the Mad Max quadrilogy, but Miller’s work had a heavy influence on God of War‘s latest entry. For those who don’t know, Cory Barlog was supposed to work with Miller on a Mad Max game that never came to be. Fortunately, some of the work carried over into God of War, and speaking to GameSpot, Barlog reveals what it was like working with the legend that is Miller: “It’s just unfortunate the way that sometimes games go that they ended up going in a different direction, and George and I ended up not working on that one with them. But the learnings I got from that definitely made [the new God of War] possible, I think, to do this. “I think if I had attempted this game–I’m not even certain if I would have attempted it–had I not worked with George. That is the impact he has. I feel like prior to working with him, it would be like reading a book without your glasses and you have terrible vision, so you see the words, but they’re blurry. Working with him, and starting to understand why drama occurs, why conflict feeds into the development of all the characters–that kind of put glasses on me to help me understand like, “Wow, I really don’t understand drama.” It is interesting to note that Barlog says he didn’t really understand drama until working with Miller. Although the director is responsible for the likes of The Witches of Eastwick and the Babe movies, there is no denying that his work on the four Mad Max movies are where he has made his name. Briefly leaving Sony in 2008, Barlog and Miller planned to cash in on the box office success of the Mad Max series before another movie hit theaters. While the Barlog-Miller project fell through, so did a proposed Mad Max game from original Fallout developers Interplay. The reins were eventually handed over to Avalanche Studios, who released a Mad Max game in 2015 alongside Warner Bros.’ live-action movie. God of War is nothing like racing through an apocalyptic wasteland, but as the glowing reviews state, the latest journey for Kratos is very much a personal affair with some great characterization and storytelling. Since 1979, Miller has created great personalities like Mel Gibson’s Max Rockatansky, Tom Hardy’s newer version Max, Aunty Entity, and Imperator Furiosa. The idea of relationships developing (quite literally) while on the road is something that can clearly be seen in God of War. No one knows how it would’ve panned out if the Mad Max game had been an official tie-in to the movie, but Avalanche’s title didn’t exactly set gaming charts alight. Sadly, the Mad Max movie series now is back in limbo since Fury Road, with an uncertain future for the proposed sequel. However, at least Barlog has taken something positives from his brief time with Miller, so who knows where it could lead. If he ever fancies hopping ship from Sony once again, maybe Miller could transform those Fury Road 2 plans into a God of War-esque game.

A new set of rumors gaining traction suggest the next Marvel Studios franchise could be an adaptation of The Eternals, one of Jack Kirby’s key creations. Back in the ’70s, Jack Kirby left his position at Marvel Comics where he’d helped to create many of the characters we see on the big screen today alongside Stan Lee. He set up shop at DC and created the New Gods, a completely invented mythology that was to be his magnum opus. Ultimately, DC cancelled the series, but the New Gods—and their counterparts on Apokolips—have continued to play a role in the comics. What’s more, but DC is making a New Gods film with Ava DuVernay. Marvel has found great success in their burgeoning cosmic universe. The Guardians of the Galaxy went from an obscure team to household names, and writer-director James Gunn is shaping Marvel’s cosmic future beyond the team. While the Asgardians are sure to play a role in that, it looks like another group of ancient Marvel royalty may soon come to the big screen. Bleeding Cool is reporting a rumor that MCU Cosmic also reported last week that Marvel is developing a new franchise based around The Eternals. Written and drawn by Kirby himself, The Eternals are a prior group of humanity created by the Celestials during early experiments on Earth. Though they haven’t played a large role in the comics, they’re certainly a nice counter to DC’s New Gods. In fact, Kirby created The Eternals after returning to Marvel from DC after the cancellation of New Gods. The rumors claim an announcement will be coming soon, which could indicate Marvel is keen to have their own version of the New Gods ready to go alongside DC’s film. This means it could be teased or setup in Avengers: Infinity War or perhaps announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Normally, this sort of report should be taken with a grain of salt given the original source of this rumor who reported a false news item earlier that same day but with Bleeding Cool backing it (who were 100% right about Marvel Studios abandoning The Imhumans movie previously despite taking heat for reporting that when they were correct). With The Eternals, Marvel has a chance to greatly expand their cosmic scope while also playing with source material that’s far less established than some of their other books. Neil Gaiman also wrote a run of The Eternals in 2006 that modernized and flesh-out the team. The author has a long history with Marvel on the comics side and could be the perfect creative to join the MCU and help bring the team to life. Currently, he’s working as a showrunner on Good Omens for Amazon and will provide some guidance for season 2 of American Gods. So Marvel securing the in-demand creative couldn’t come at a better time. We don’t know what Phase 4 of the MCU will look like, but it seems clear at least one cosmic franchise will play a role moving forward. If Marvel is looking for something with intergalactic roots that’s different from Guardians of the Galaxy, then The Eternals could be the perfect way to explore the far reaches of the MCU. Sigrid has released new single ‘High Five’, and it’s a refreshingly honest pop banger from the rising Scandi star. The track sees Sigrid opting for a subdued trip-hop sound, before it slowly builds into one of the huge choruses that the singer is quickly becoming renowned for. Sigrid explains that it was influenced by “the importance of those relations where you both dare to be completely honest with each other, rather than exchanging superficial «high fives”. I feel honoured as there are so many other artists I look up to who have won this before me, and honestly, I’m just really happy and proud of what my team and I have achieved together,” said Sigrid as she accepted the latter honour. “I’m from a small town called Ålesund in Norway. I’m still 21 and it’s quite crazy to get this recognition. I’m very excited about the year ahead and sharing new music with everyone. The band tell NME what to expect Biffy Clyro have announced the release of their new ‘MTV Unplugged’ album along with details of a UK acoustic tour. Following in the legendary footsteps of the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Oasis and REM, the band will be releasing the live album of their MTV Unplugged show at The Roundhouse in London on May 25, when their performance will also premiere on MTV. Meanwhile, Biffy have also been hard at work on many other things… “We’ve been working on a lot of new music,” frontman Simon Neil told NME of their year so far. “We’re working on two records concurrently at the moment. “We’re doing one record for a movie which will be filmed once we’ve finished it. It’s this really cool kind of collaboration with this Welsh director called Jamie Adams. He’s a fantastic director. Radiohead‘s Colin Greenwood has joined forces with newcomer Tamino on a track from his debut EP. The slow-burning track sees Greenwood offering his efforts on bass, underlining the vocals of of 21- year-old Tamino. The collaboration, which you can listen to below, came about after mutual friends connected Greenwood and Tamino together. “Indigo Night is the most narrative song I’ve written, although there are still parallels with the main character in the song and me. I wrote it during my time in Amsterdam when I was 18. At the time, I felt like I needed some kind of awakening which maybe reflects in the song”, he explained. Colin and I have a few mutual friends. We met a couple of times by pure coincidence. Last summer he came to one of my hometown shows in Antwerp and was very enthusiastic about the music. I felt like we spoke the same musical language when we talked afterwards. When we started recording we noticed we missed some bass guitar parts in a couple of songs. Colin felt like the perfect match because of his melodic playing, whilst keeping an incredible groove. “I’m honoured to have him playing on my songs.” Tamino is signed to Communion Records, and he’ll make his debut UK headline show at Electrowerkz on the 15 th May, followed by a slot at Brighton’s Great Escape on the 18 th May, and Citadel on the 15th July.

Get ready for 16 new remixes from Robert Smith The Cure have announced details of the upcoming deluxe editions of ‘Mixed Up’ and ‘Torn Down’ – with new mixes. Check out the epic tracklist along with Robert Smith’s new remix of ‘Want’ below. ‘Torn Down’ serves as a sequel to The Cure’s Record Store Day release – a vinyl reissue of the band’s 1990 remix album, ‘Mixed Up’. Remixed by Smith himself and available across multiple formats, the release includes Cure classics such as ‘Lullaby’, ‘Close to Me’, ‘Pictures of You’, ‘Lovesong’, and ‘Why Can’t I Be You?’. Read more: The full list of Record Store Day 2018 releases On ‘Mixed Up’, Smith singled out Brian ‘Chuck’ New’s dub style remix of ‘Pictures Of You’ as the muse for the record’s bold and adventurous direction. “That mix turned the music on its head, but at the same time left the essential heart of the song intact,” he said. “As soon as I heard it, I updated the entire ‘Mixed Up’ plan. My revised ambition was to compile an album that was contemporary without being dated, immediate without being obvious, musically inspiring, rhythmically exciting and sonically great!” Of the re-energising power of releasing ‘Mixed up’, Smith continued: “The whole of 1990 was essentially spent emerging from the shadow of Disintegration, and we managed to do it in a creatively satisfying way; by the end of the year, I couldn’t wait to start work on new songs for the next record”. Speaking of ‘Torn Down’, Smith continued: “I wanted a 3-disc package, but we didn’t have enough ‘historic’ remixes – for a while I thought the ‘extra-extras’ CD would be Cure songs re-mixed by choice artists, rather than by choice re-mixers… that then got me thinking maybe I should have a go at one… so in early August 2017, I decided to experiment with ‘Three Imaginary Boys’. It is a pretty sparse multi-track; I pulled it apart at home and finished the initial re-mix in one session – and I really enjoyed the whole process”. A release from the band adds: “By choosing favourite songs rather than the usual singles, one of Smith’s objectives was to illustrate the variety of the Cure catalogue, and by October of 2017 working on songs in chronological release order, he had remixed entirely the 16 songs that appear on ‘Torn Down: Mixed Up Extras 2018’.”

Cameron Heacock was reportedly pulled over by police after he drove a stolen van from a motel in Costa Mesta, California. Upon inspection of the van, police found that it was packed with stolen property, with the discovery then leading them to a warehouse where thirteen guitars and a motorcycle were discovered. Nine of the instruments were taken from Guitar Center, a music shop in Fountain Valley. Heacock is in custody at Santa Ana’s Central Men’s Jail, where he is expected to remain before a court appearance later today. This is a modal window. Microsoft Corp is investigating the methods partner KPMG uses to crack down on the illegal use of its software in India, after a complaint from a senior member of the country's ruling political party, documents seen by Reuters showed. India is one of the U.S. technology firm's biggest markets in Asia, yet over half of all software installed on computers in the country is unlicensed, advocacy group Business Software Alliance said in 2016. A pirated compact disc of Microsoft's Windows 10 can be bought for around $2 in New Delhi, compared with $130 needed to buy the operating system from Microsoft's online portal. To ensure compliance, Microsoft runs a global "software asset management" (SAM) programme under which it partners global consultants, such as KPMG in India, which seek permission from business owners to check for the use of unlicensed software. Last month, Vinit Goenka, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and technology adviser to the government, complained to both companies that a KPMG employee "barged in" to his Mumbai recruitment firm without an appointment to check its software, according to emails reviewed by Reuters. Rajiv Sodhi, a senior Microsoft India executive, told Goenka in a March 20 email that the company was looking at the issue with "utmost seriousness". "We are also getting an assessment agency to carry out an audit of the process delivery at KPMG to identify and correct gaps, if any," Sodhi wrote in the email reviewed by Reuters. Sodhi did not respond to a request for comment. Microsoft told Reuters its SAM programme is run as per global standards, while KPMG said it follows "appropriate procedures agreed in our engagement with clients". Both declined to comment on the alleged incident and probe. The employee, who identified himself in the emails as Srijesh, declined to comment. Goenka confirmed the incident and complaint, telling Reuters the handful of computers at his company, Ratein Infotech, used genuine software. He said he planned to file a police complaint against both companies. Ratein Infotech last month received a letter from the U.S. software firm saying it needed help in "interpreting licensing policies of Microsoft", the emails showed. The issue escalated when the KPMG employee entered Ratien's office on March 15. Microsoft and KPMG apologised and the employee, Srijesh, resigned, the e-mails showed. "This is part of my regular job, that I do on a daily basis as directed by KPMG and Microsoft," Srijesh wrote in an apology email to Goenka, seen by Reuters. Goenka is a former employee of International Business Machines Corp and advises government committees on information technology initiatives.
