In 1993, all Hell broke loose in Doom, and now a quarter of a century later, the title is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Video games come and go, but one thing has remained constant throughout modern gaming history: Doom is eternal.

The industry considers the first Doom a virtual pioneer in first-person shooter games. Not only did it bring 3D graphics, multiplayer and mods to the IBM computers of the time, it also spawned a series of sequels, spin-offs, expansion packs, novels, comics, a board game, and even a movie. And now, 25 years after that first Doom took gaming to an entirely new level, Doom continues to rack up fans who love the bloody and ruthless killing satisfaction that the franchise provides so well. The premise of almost all Doom games is the same: Players take on the role of an unnamed soldier who must battle the forces of Hell, such as demons and the undead. During its quarter-century reign, Doom has become an icon of pop culture.

With Doom now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Bethesda, the game's current developer, released a video to invite fans to join the all-new official Doom fan club. Fans can sign up at SlayersClub.com to get an exclusive Doom Slayer skin for Doom Eternal, the next title in the series. Bethesda also teased the club will give fans access to exclusive content, events, rewards and contests in honor of Doom turning 25.
