The Witcher is Coming to Monster Hunter: World

The most famous Witcher of all time, Geralt of Rivia, is coming to Monster Hunter: World to slay some beasts. But Geralt is not just a skin in Capcom's game; instead, he is a playable character.

Monster Hunter: World is an action-adventure roleplaying game where players take on the role of a Hunter, whose mission is to kill or capture monsters in the game's massive open world fantasy setting. The Hunter provides support to the New World, an untamed wilderness that has the interest of researchers in the Old World, who want to learn more about this new continent that seems so separate from their own. Each monster the hunter kills or captures provides more information for the Research Commission. In killing and capturing creatures, the Hunter gets access to new weapons and upgrades, as well as better armor with more skills.

If this seems like a ripe setting for Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red agrees. Capcom announced a partnership with The Witcher developer to bring Geralt into Monster Hunter: World as a playable character. Not only that, but when playing Geralt, players will experience RPG elements similar to that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as be able to use Geralt's unique fighting style that combines swords with magic.
