Stacey Dooley bans mum Di from Strictly studios

STACEY Dooley has revealed she has had to ban her mum Di from coming to Strictly too much.

The 31-year-old decided to limit the number of visits her super-fan mum has had to let other people get a look in.

When asked if her mum came to watch her, she told Stylist magazine: “Yes, but I’ve had to put a limit on it because it was getting a bit ridiculous [laughs]. She’s allowed to come every other week now. She often brings a pal, this week she’s there with my boyfriend.”

The documentary maker, who is currently favourite to win the show, revealed her mum is delighted she’s on the show.

Discussing what surprised her about being on the show, she said: “How much I love Strictly! I thought it would be fun and I’d be in the UK for a bit so I’d be at home more, I was being practical.

“But as soon as you get there, I know it sounds really cheesy and painfully predictable, but it is the most incredible experience. It’s hard work – 10, 12 hours a day dancing – but it’s so worthwhile.”

She added: “And I’ve made Di’s life. Anything I’ve done prior to Strictly really doesn’t matter.”

Stacey's mum gushed about the experience, saying: "These two have made the last 12 weeks unforgettable...... whatever happens next,just continue to go out, enjoy it, and be yourselves! Thankyou both so much for all the laughter and fun so so proud of the both of you xxx"

This weekend Stacey and her prop partner Kevin Clifton will battle it out to take home the Glitterball Trophy.

They chose their foxtrot to Jeff Beck's Hi Ho Silver Lining, which saw them to the leaderboard with 33 points in week four, as their judges' pick.

The filmmaker and her partner will do their showdance to Land Of A Thousand Dances by Wilson Pickett.
