A HUGE blunder involving Julia Roberts has gone viral after a US newspaper typo saw a headline read that her "holes get bigger with age".

The unfortunate mistake, printed in a local New York newspaper, has been widely shared on Twitter.

Last Saturday, The Post-Journal - a daily newspaper serving the Jamestown area of the East Coast city - ran an interview by the Associated Press with the 51-year-old actress about her role in new film Ben Is Back and Amazon series Homecoming.

However, when it was printed, the title of the piece read: "Julia Roberts Finds Life And Her Holes Get Better With Age".

The newspaper quickly issued a correction, which clarified that the headline should have been: "Julia Roberts Finds Life And Her Roles Get Better With Age."

But their statement wasn't before the mistake went viral after an image of the piece was distributed on social media.

Many people took to Twitter to share their amusement at the story.

One wrote: "@TheEllenShow can’t believe this headline in our local paper... Julia Roberts will be glad to know her holes are getting better with age"

Another commented: "Looking forward to my holes getting better with age as well. You're welcome."

A third shared: "'Never dictate a headline over phone'"

It comes as Julia looked stunning in a bright pink gown as she climbed a sheer cliff face in a photo-shoot for Harper’s Bazaar.

The Pretty Woman actress was recently interviewed by broadcasting legend Oprah Winfrey for the publication.

Julia opened up about turning 51, ageing in the spotlight and social media, during the chat.

For the photo-shoot, she wore some of the season’s most breath-taking couture, including a hot pink gown with a huge train.

In another Julia looked chic in a black jumpsuit.

Talking about having the shoot, she said: “I am afraid of heights… Of course they're not going to put me in incredible peril.

“We did things that were just high enough and just scary enough where I could still smile and throw my gown up into the air.”
