In Creed II, Brigitte Nielsen reprises her role of Ludmilla Drago, a Soviet gold-medal swimmer who is the ex-wife and spokeswoman to Soviet captain Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). She tells The Hollywood Reporter In Studio what it was like to step back into the iconic character’s shoes.

“It was so unexpected,” Nielsen said on playing Ludmilla again. “I had to pinch myself because to bring back Ludmilla Drago after 33 years is just about impossible, so I was very emotional.”

Nielsen’s cameo in the film was kept under wraps from fans, making her the “happy secret” when it debuted.

“The fans were ecstatic. They wanted Ludmilla there at all costs, whether it was 20 seconds, a minute, two or an hour,” she told THR. “From what I’ve heard, everybody’s super happy about it and I, obviously, am happy.”

Nielsen also discussed being a part of the Marvel universe, having starred in 1985's Red Sonja, based on the Marvel comic book. “I want to scream out to everybody, ‘I am part of the Marvel universe!’ I love the Marvel characters and I want to be back.”

But the actress isn’t looking to revisit her character of Red Sonja in a reboot. Instead, she has her eyes on a different role.

“I see myself in another Marvel story playing the villain where I can just kick butt and just totally scare the crap out of all of you. But I’ll take anything. I feel like there’s a lot of excitement with a villain. You can go many, many places. If you’re the good person, you better be good. It’s good to be bad,” she said.

Watch the video above to hear Nielsen discuss being pregnant while filming Creed II, how roles for women have changed in the film industry and more.
