Here at BTN, we're dedicated to keeping all of you supplied with a large variety of quality TV shows and making sure that those shows are available as and when you need them. We can only achieve this goal if the members of BTN help us out a little, especially those who upload content. Recently we had been seeing a lot of torrent uploads that were poor quality releases or were poorly put together; this makes our job more difficult and as a result makes many members experience at BTN a lot less enjoyable.

As a result of this we got together with the BTN Encoders and worked long and hard to come up with a new rule set, which was not only fair but also comprehensive in that there shouldn’t be any misunderstandings about what we do and do not allow.

I urge you all to go to the upload rules page and thoroughly read through them; if there is any aspect that you don’t understand or would like more clarification on then please feel free to contact a member of staff who will assist you.

Finally, a note about the naming of torrents and torrent files: We have noticed that a lot of people either don’t know about or are confused by our guidelines concerning torrent naming, these are an important aspect of uploading here. Staff will be actively enforcing these guidelines and everyone who uploads content is expected to adhere to them. The proper naming conventions are as follows:

Naming Conventions for Season Packs:

-DVDRip: TVSeries.SXX.FORMAT.DVDRip.AUDIO.x264-group

-DVDR: TVSeries.SXX.FORMAT.DVD-group

-SD WEB-DL: TVSeries.SXX.480p.WEB-DL.AUDIO.h.264-group

-720p WEB-DL: TVSeries.SXX.720p.WEB-DL.AUDIO.h.264-group

-1080i Cap: TVSeries.SXX.1080i.HDTV.AUDIO.CODEC-group

-720p HDTV: TVSeries.SXX.720p.HDTV.AUDIO.x264-group

-PDTV: TVSeries.SXX.PDTV.AUDIO.x264-group

-DSR: TVSeries.SXX.DSR.AUDIO.x264-group

-Scene/p2p BRRrip: TVSeries.SXX.BRRip.AUDIO.XviD-group

-Scene DVDRrip: TVSeries.SXX.DVDRip.AUDIO.XviD-group

-Scene HDTV: TVSeries.SXX.HDTV.XviD-group

Where:

Format= NTSC or PAL (Mandatory for ALL DVD Releases).

Audio= DD5.1/DD2.0/AAC2.0/DTS.5.1/DTSHD-MA/TRUEHD/FLAC/MP2.

Codec=MPEG2/h.264/x264.

TVSeries=Show Name.

SXX=Season Number, in the format of S01 for Season 1, S02 for Season 2 etc.

Group = The name of the group that released the episodes. If multiple groups or user encodes, use -BTN

Characters Permitted:

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789.-

Characters Strictly Prohibited:

'!"$%^&*()

Naming Conventions for Individual Episodes.:

Individual episodes that are released by a group should not have the naming changed in any way under any circumstances, even if they don't adhere to the above guidelines. The scene and various P2P groups have their own naming conventions.

Episodes that are user encoded should adhere to the same standards as season pack, replacing SXX with SXXEXX, where the EXX is the episode number.
