Cyberpunk 2077, COD: Cold War, & Watch Dogs RTX Trailers Are Jaw-Dropping

A series of trailers for high-profile games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War show what Nvidia's new GeForce RTX GPU is capable of in terms of ray tracing and 8K resolutions. The two titles are some of the most highly-anticipated titles of recent times and will almost certainly be top of the line when it comes to technology and visuals.

Nvidia revealed the brand new GeForce RTX 3090 today during a special virtual event. The specialized GPU has been designed specifically to support 8K gaming, giving players access to the highest possible resolutions while in-game. The reveal of the new RTX model has been teased for the last month or so, but the specifications still came as a surprise to those who tuned into the livestreamed presentation. Priced at a costly $1,499, the gaming GPU also supports HDMI 2.1, so it will be able to boost its signal transmission to allow 8K resolution. It will also feature DLSS to improve frame rates and ray tracing for upgraded lighting. Nvidia confirmed that the ray tracing capable video card will be available to buy starting September 24th, 2020.

As part of the reveal event to showcase the GeForce RTX 3090, Nvidia shared several trailers for high-profile releases. Most notably, the company published new footage from Cyberpunk 2077, demonstrating the impressive visuals that its beefed-up GPU supports. Also showcased in the event were Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Watch Dogs, two games that also seemed to benefit greatly from ray tracing and higher resolutions, especially when it came to lighting effects. The trailers demonstrate that no matter how powerful next-gen consoles might be, they will likely still struggle to compete with powerful PCs.
