Babbel Adds Live Classes, Fun Games, and More to Language-Learning App

Babbel, a favored app among language learners, is getting a complete overhaul. Users can now round out their language learning experience with live virtual classes, games, and educational videos.

Babbel Live Brings the Classroom to You

Babbel is getting a slew of exciting features, as outlined in a press release on Babbel's website. One game-changing update includes Babbel Live, a feature that gives you the opportunity to participate in live virtual classes with others.

Babbel notes that you'll be to choose classes based on your skill level, schedule, and your preferred teacher. According to Babbel, every teacher is language certified and carefully vetted to provide the best language learning experience.

Virtual classes are a great addition to Babbel's existing curriculum, and can provide that much-needed motivation to learners who struggle to get started on their own.

"By introducing live conversations and lessons, we close the loop for many different user needs, interests, and learning styles while doubling down on learning effectiveness," says Babbel CPO Geoff Stead.

Babbel Live is available as a standalone subscription, or as an add-on to an existing subscription. Currently, the only languages available for Babbel Live classes include Spanish and German.

Introducing Even More Ways to Learn on Babbel

Besides live classes, Babbel has also launched new games that can make language learning more fun. While Phraze Maze challenges you to correctly arrange sentences, Sink or Spell and Word Trax both offer an interactive way to improve your spelling skills.

And if that isn't enough, Babbel's addition of short stories lets you listen to real scenarios in your target language. The clips are only a few minutes long and can put your comprehension skills to the test.

Babbel is adding Culture Bites as well, which are quick videos that aim to educate you about the culture surrounding the language you're learning. In the same vein, it's also introducing a library of videos that teach you about the language itself, helping you further your fluency.

Babbel Packs a Diverse Curriculum in Small Devices

Babbel previously launched language-specific podcasts in 2020, and these new features only add to the exciting tools already present within Babbel. With new games, videos, short stories, and especially live classes, Babbel is becoming a well-rounded language learning resource that can nearly replace a real-life classroom.

Being able to access all of these tools from your phone or computer can definitely help when you're preparing to go abroad, or if you simply want to pick up a new language in your free time.
