Shadow & Bone Trailer Reveals Best Look At Alina’s Power To Summon Light

Recommended Posts

The latest trailer for Netflix's upcoming series Shadow and Bone delves further into Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse. Shadow and Bone marks the first time any of beloved YA author Bardugo's works has been adapted into live-action form, and anticipation is quite high. Bardugo first created the Grishaverse with her 2012 novel Shadow and Bone, which follows heroine Alina Starkov (played by Jessie Mei Li on the show) as she uncovers the incredibly rare and incredible power she holds within her. That first book became the start of a trilogy, and Bardugo has since expanded the universe with additional novels and short stories.

Netflix's Shadow and Bone will bring several Grishaverse characters together in epic fashion. Fans were initially surprised to hear the first season will include not only those from the Shadow and Bone trilogy, but also some familiar faces from Bardugo's acclaimed Six of Crows duology, which takes place years after the initial trilogy. The Netflix series will feature pairings not seen in the novels as a result. Ever since Shadow and Bone's main cast was announced last year, the fanbase has been abuzz with excitement for the series.

A little less than a month before Shadow and Bone's debut, Netflix has released its latest trailer. Much like the first, it dives headfirst into the country of Ravka, Alina's home, and the biggest threat that stands against it: The Shadow Fold. Additionally, Alina's exploration of her powers gets special focus, as well as her growing relationship with General Kirigan (Ben Barnes), known to fans as the Darkling. Check out the trailer down below.

Just as with the first Shadow and Bone trailer, the latest glimpse at the series references just how special and unheard of Alina's Sun Summoner powers are. However, this time there's even more of an emphasis on how that puts her in danger. Many people are intrigued by Alina's abilities, and they wish to capture her for their own purposes. This particular plot appears to be where the Six of Crow characters come in, as Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter), Inej Ghafa (Amita Suman), and Jesper Fahey (Kit Young) are glimpsed at the same time someone demands, "Bring me Alina Starkov."

All told, Shadow and Bone looks to be the kind of television epic fans have been hungering for. The trailers have hinted at the show's incredible production values, with Ravka and other locations coming to life with intricate detail. That the early buzz for Shadow and Bone among fans has been so positive speaks to how well the show so far seems to be adapting Bardugo's work. Should the series pan out like the trailers have indicated, Netflix just might have another hit on their hands.

Shadow and Bone premieres on Netflix on April 23.

    • Question: Best way to get starting.

HI all, I used torrents a long time ago (10-15 years). Back in the days it was easy, there were a few good torrent sites and downloading was peanuts. Now there are everywhere private trackers and I have no clue how to start. Can anyone help me set things up and point me in a direction of good trackers? I'm mostly looking for Appz (windows) and PC games, sometimes tv and movies but I have plex shares for that.
