If you’ve noticed, Instagram recently added a new feature called, Show Activity Status. This feature reveals the time when you were last active on Instagram. For some, it is okay to share the last active status, but many wouldn’t appreciate sharing it. On other hand, it shouldn’t really matter if people know when you last used the app. But, sharing your last activity can result in some extremely creepy cases.

Tips To Disable Activity Feature On Instagram for Android and Iphone

Well, it seems like Instagram also cared a bit for your privacy and left an option to let you disable activity feature. Once you switch off the last activity sharing button, the fellow users would not be able to see your last activity. However, with it turned off, you would also not be able to see their last activity. Android

To disable the last activity status on your Android smartphone, launch the Instagram app and tap on the profile tab at the right-hand side bottom corner (in latest version). Once there, tap on the three vertical dots icon, scroll down to slide-off the Show Activity Status button.

iPhone

If you’ve got an iPhone, click on the silhouette icon in the bottom right hand side and tap on the Settings button (gear icon) near the Edit Profile button. Then, scroll down to slide-off the Show Activity Status button and safeguard your privacy.

 

Overall, whether it’s about the Facebook’s Analytica scandal or this last activity sharing feature of Instagram, there’re a few things that should not be shared. What is not understood is the objective of these giants to let others know about your last activity. Why would other person care if you were active a few minutes ago or still are.

Although, it is a perfect remedy to create differences among friends. If your friend sees your last active status and doesn’t see your like on his post, you’ve got to explain.
