The Sandlot's Ham actor Patrick Renna has shared an amusing TikTok about what it's like to be a celebrity. The baseball comedy is considered a classic '90s movie,  though reviews were mixed when it initially released. Set in the 1960s, The Sandlot focuses on Scott Smalls (Tom Guiry), whose family moves to Los Angeles. Though Smalls struggles to make friends at first, he soon joins the talented Benny Rodriguez (Mike Vitar) and his baseball team. The Sandlot follows the group over the course of one summer and the hijinks that ensue.

Renna's Ham gets what's arguably the film's most iconic line with "You’re killing me, Smalls.” Since The Sandlot, Renna has worked consistently in film and television. He's guest-starred on a number of popular shows, including The X-Files, ER, and Bones. Renna's most recent movie credit is the 2016 horror comedy Fear, Inc. However, he also showed up in season 2 of Netflix's since-cancelled GLOW, where he played Cupcake, the super fan obsessed with Rhonda's wrestling alter-ego Britannica.

Considering the amount of time Renna has been in the business, he knows a thing or two about celebrity. This is clear in a new TikTok where Renna acts out an encounter between himself and an imaginary fan of The Sandlot. Renna captioned the video "Always the bridesmaid," adding to the hilarity. Check out Renna's TikTok (via Jessica Kleinschmidt) below:

Though the video is funny on its own, the music choice of "Lonely" by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco makes it that much better. The baseball field setting is also appropriate. Renna's TikTok shows he's a good sport about primarily being associated with his role in The Sandlot. Since the movie came out almost 30 years ago, it would be understandable if Renna was tired of talking about the film and Ham's catchphrase, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Though it's unlikely Renna will have another similarly iconic part, it's good he's been able to work steadily since the release of The Sandlot. It can be hard for child actors to make the transition into more adult roles, but it seems Renna hasn't had any trouble with that. It helps that The Sandlot remains enormously popular; Disney+ is developing a sequel TV series, and a prequel was in the works as of 2018. At one point, the Sandlot TV show was set to feature the original cast, so it stands to reason Renna could reprise his role soon. In the meantime, hopefully The Sandlot actor continues turning out hilarious TikToks like this one
