Mark Ruffalo celebrates the second anniversary of Avengers: Endgame by hyping up Marvel Studios’ Disney+ shows. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has established an impressive roster of characters throughout its four phases (and 23 films). Phase 1 of the MCU (also known as Avengers Assembled) began with 2008’s Iron Man and ended with the release of 2012’s The Avengers—the first team-up between the founding Avengers: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo. The film also marked Ruffalo’s debut as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, taking over the role from Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Ruffalo has gone on to star in four other MCU films including Avengers: Endgame. As one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, Avengers: Endgame brought a satisfying conclusion to the universe’s biggest arcs, tying up 21 films worth of storytelling and catapulting us into Phase 4—the first phase to incorporate episodic television. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent theatrical delays, the bulk of Phase 4’s content is being released on Disney+. In 2021, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have proven massively popular as fans anticipate other shows like Loki and Hawkeye. That said, it’s been two years to the day since Avengers: Endgame was released in theaters, and everyone is looking forward by looking back.

Ruffalo recently took to Instagram celebrating the film’s anniversary. While expressing disbelief that it’s been two years since the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, the actor congratulated his extended MCU family on their newly-introduced shows amid the now-iconic quote, “love you [all] 3000” and a photo of Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, with some familiar faces. Check out the post below:

Ruffalo also expressed his excitement for Loki starring Tom Hiddleston and Hawkeye starring Jeremy Renner on Disney +. Like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, both shows should have major consequences on the larger MCU. Loki will see its titular character messing with multiple timelines and Hawkeye will feature a passing of the mantel from Clint Barton to Kate Bishop. Other shows include What If…?, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, with Ruffalo presumably reprising his role of Professor Hulk from Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame set a precedent for cohesive storytelling, and the MCU is riding that high in Phase 4; WandaVision leading into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier leading into Captain America 4. As fans await the theatrical (and possible streaming) releases of Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Disney+ content will continue to develop viewers' investment in the MCU—making Marvel Studios (and Disney) the most formidable name in superhero cinema. Like Ruffalo, fans can’t wait to see what happens next.
