Fast and Furious 9 promotional video reveals how the film's practical car stunts were filmed. The Fast Saga enters its final trilogy starting with the upcoming blockbuster which will mark the return of director Justin Lin in the franchise. There are many things to be excited about the new film including Han rejoining Dom's crew, and while plot specifics are being firmly kept under wraps, at least fans are assured that F9 will deliver on the series' signature thrilling action sequences.

Kicking off in 2001 as a franchise that primarily tackles street racing, The Fast Saga has evolved over the years, outgrowing its original premise, and fully becoming an action-adventure franchise. Each film has featured over-the-top stunts including driving from one high rise to another, parachuting off an aircraft with their cars, and, most recently, tackling a submarine under the ice. Given this, many are looking forward to what F9 has to offer and while The Fast Saga's action scenes have become more unfeasible over the years, it appears as if Lin is adamant about making the upcoming ones looking as realistic as possible.

As F9's release nears, marketing for the film is in full swing with The Fast Saga's official YouTube channel sharing a clip revealing how some of the movie's practical car stunts were filmed. The behind the scenes snippets are mixed in with movie footage giving an idea of what the final scene in the blockbuster would look like. Watch the video below:

Clearly, F9 had destroyed a lot of cars during production. Vin Diesel recently revealed that like the actors who join the franchise, the vehicles featured in the films have been carefully screened, hence why they have featured a wide selection of automobiles. Chances are that these are the ones driven by the main cast members and will be in a memorable sequence such as the magnet-fitted custom in F9. It's curious, however, what their process has been for cars that are meant to just be blown up like the many vehicles featured in the featurette.

These stunts are what make The Fast Saga films so much fun to watch in theaters. So despite being delayed for so long due to varying reasons including the coronavirus pandemic, it made sense that Universal opted to wait until cinemas are finally open again to release Fast and Furious 9. However, as great as these stunts are, the main draw of these movies has always been its characters, particularly the bond among Dom's "familia." The upcoming blockbuster looks like it will deliver on its action; hopefully, it'll also deliver when it comes to the story's emotional element.
