Elon Musk’s Satellite Internet Won’t Allow Piracy, Illegal Downloads; Issues Notice

Recommended Posts

The SpaceX Starlink satellite broadband app shall not be kind to the trend of people actively downloading spoiled movies, TV shows and software from the dark depths of the global web.

Anti-download Policy & Network Crime

As far as anti-download policy or sharing of copyrighted content on their online service is concerned, the company is stern about the same and not just that but the company also goes out of its way to make sure that these norms are followed as it is now sending warnings to users who are still downloading corrupted content using the Starlink satellite broadband service.

In fact, the user who sent the text message to Starlink, says he only did it to test what Starlink would do in the end. However, we now know how critical Elon Musk’s SpaceX is in terms of maintaining Starlink network crime. Not surprisingly, since many Internet providers or ISPs, are firmly rooted in crime.

A Starlink user who handles the “substrate-97” handle on reddit claims to have received the first notice of copyright infringement on his Starlink broadband account. In a very straightforward email, Starlink notification states, “We have received a notification from the content owner stating that your Starlink internet service has been used to download copyrighted material without the right to do so. If you believe the notification from the content owner was incorrect, please contact the content owner directly.

”This is as clear as it gets – Starlink is actively following complaints of content theft by content owners, for example. The notice further states, “Be aware that downloading copyrighted content without a license or other right is a violation of the Starlink Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). We must emphasize that you and / or other users of your Starlink service will stop downloading illegal content. “It is good to see that Starlink is taking complaints of the robbery, while there seems to be no indication of road rent in the end.

Suspensation or Termination If Failing To Comply

Finally, Starlink notification to the user makes it clear that continuing to download copyrighted material without a license could result in the suspension or termination of Starlink broadband service for that account. There is also a warning of possible legal action by the content owner. In the Starlink AUP referred to in this email, the service provider explicitly states, “SpaceX respects third-party copyright. You may not store or use the Services or Starlink Kit in any way that infringes any third party infringement, including, for example, under copyright law. According to Section 512 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, it is the policy of SpaceX to terminate the account of repeat copyright infringement in appropriate circumstances. ” For potential users in India, Starlink is already accepting pre-orders for a service that is expected to be available in India in the coming year.

The refundable deposit is $ 99 which applies to just over Rs 7000 depending on the conversion rates. Starlink says the $ 99 deposit is fully refundable at any time, even if you lose your first access position. It is expected that Starlink hardware kits will be available soon, at least in the first few months, of the launch of Starlink satellite broadband in India – if you really want a satellite, you should put your location online. The Starlink kit gets you a ‘class’ satellite dish, tripod and Wi-Fi router. You can download the Starlink app for iPhone and Android phones to determine the best installation location for your home or office.

The Starlink satellite broadband service is expected to cost around $ 99 a month – at least that is the first beta guaranteed subscription for last year. Whether there is a change in the tax system in India, we do not know yet. In India, Starlink will compete with wired broadband services including Reliance Jio Fiber and Airtel Xstream, for example, offering 1Gbps systems with unlimited data of Rs 3,999 and monthly taxes.
