How To Prevent fltmgr.sys Blue Screen Errors

Fix SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (fltmgr.sys error)

Before we jot down any of the fixes for this blue screen error, try restarting your computer. Sometimes File System Manager does not load properly but restarting gives a chance to clear system’s RAM. If even after rebooting, you get the error message, follow the fixes mentioned below.

Fix 1: Safe Mode With Networking (Windows 10)

The first thing you need to do is enter safe mode. For this, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Turn off your computer.

Step 2: Turn on your PC by long-pressing the power button and as the log in Windows come up on the screen, long-press Power button to turn it off.]

Step 3: As you repeat the same steps, the screen will display ‘Preparing Automatic Repair’.

Step 4: Click on Advanced Options as Windows keep diagnosing the problem.

Step 5: On the next screen, click Troubleshoot. 

Step 6: Click Advanced Options and Startup Settings on the next screen.

Step 7: Finally, select Restart.

Step 8: Press 5 and you will be able to enable Safe mode with Networking.

And you will be able to solve the issue of system service exception (fltmgr sys). If you cannot, follow the next method.

Fix 2: Run SFC Scan (System File Checker)

System File Checker or SFC in Windows help in the system so that any missing or corrupted files are figured out. To fix system service exception (fltmgr sys) error, follow the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Press Windows logo on the keyboard and type cmd here. Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator. Click Yes.

Step 2:  In this window, type SFC/scannow and hit Enter.

Please be patient and give the system some time to figure out all the problems. Once done, restart the computer and check if fltmgr.sys error has been resolved.

Fix 3: Update All Your Drivers

Now, this is important that you keep all your drivers updated as an outdated or faulty driver may not be able to recognize the system the way it should have been. Fix 4: Find If Hardware & Hard Drives Are Working Properly

If your hard drives are not connected properly, or there is a fault in the system, the computer does not respond as it should have. To check the hardware issues, you can replace or remove the hardware and get it checked.

You should also keep a check on the noise or strange sounds that the system keeps making. Locate it on time and find if the hard drive has become readable now.
