A video shows a homemade version of Disneyland's Star Tours that a dad put together for his daughter's theme park birthday party. Built with George Lucas and set in his iconic Star Wars universe, the motion simulator first opened in Tomorrowland at California's Disneyland in 1987 and was the first attraction to not be based on a Disney property. Since its debut, the attraction has expanded to Tokyo Disneyland, Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris, all of which were subsequently converted into Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, which features locations and characters from all nine films in comparison to just the original trilogy.

This shift in theme allowed for a big boost in crowds for the attraction, especially in Disneyland, which added a single rider line in early 2020 due to a heavy influx of attendees. Even as Disney's parks have begun to reopen around the world after closures due to the pandemic, Disneyland's high prices have seen some parents seek to find workarounds to bring their children the same level of joy as going to the park itself. One such parent has revealed a galaxy-shattering effort to recreate one of Disneyland's most iconic attractions.

A video from YouTube channel Disneyland At Home for Indy's Birthday shows one father's efforts to bring Star Tours to life in his garage for his daughter's 8th birthday. Gathering together some family friends, the father finally got the opportunity to bring his daughter's dreams of a Disneyland-themed party to life at home.

While a motion simulator may seem easy enough to recreate in a homemade manner, the extent to which the father went to bring Star Tours to his daughter and her friends is both heartwarming and impressive. Given the smaller scale of the garage setting, it's understandably not equipped for the same level of guests as the Disneyland ride, but seeing the crafty work that brought the StarSpeeder 1000 and robotic Captain Rex to life is jaw-dropping. That's without mentioning the high-quality video of the ride itself on a big screen inside the ship taking Indy and her friends and family on the intergalactic journey of a lifetime.

In addition to the recreation of Star Tours, it's really sweet to see the parents and their adult friends suit up in some of the most iconic outfits from franchise characters, including a full Darth Vader suit. That level of commitment may invoke jealousy in some parents, but even they should be able to put aside that feeling and exhibit a tearful smile at the happiness Indy and her friends display. It will be interesting to see what rides the father recreates for his family at home in the future.
