Playground Games has revealed a first look at the full map for the upcoming Forza Horizon 5, giving fans an idea of the landscapes they'll be experiencing, as well as the size of the game world. Forza Horizon 5 was announced earlier this year and will take drivers to Mexico with new-generation graphics and performance.

Forza Horizon 5 may be one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year, in part thanks to the success of its predecessor, Forza Horizon 4. Despite releasing in 2018, the game is still recognized as one of the most realistic racing games on the market, meaning hopes are high for the next addition to the series. Forza Horizon 5 is set to utilize the full potential of the Xbox Series X/S consoles, with 4K Ultra HD and 60fps on Series X. As well as impressive graphics, fans of Forza Horizon will experience ray-traced audio when the game releases later this year.

The full game map was shared to Twitter by Forza Horizon, offering an overview of what players can expect at launch, with road sizes giving an indication of just how large the game world is. The map of Mexico features a variety of location types, including mountain areas, dunes, and forest regions, and promises to be one of the most diverse games in the series to date. While the map doesn't show any of the game's events, races, or challenges, it does show the time of year and also discloses whether or not it's the wet season, adding more realism to the world. As expected, the new map looks considerably bigger than Forza Horizon 4's base map.

Forza Horizon 5's beautiful game world will feature 11 unique environment biomes for players to explore, all of which have been created with the real-life locations in mind. Techniques including photogrammetry have been used to recreate the Mexican landscapes with realism and precision, offering a fully immersive experience for the player. Xbox has previously confirmed Forza Horizon 5's biomes as Canyon, Tropical Coast, Farmland, Arid Hills, Jungle, Living Desert, Rocky Coast, Sand Desert, Swamp, Urban City of Guanajuato, and Volcano, each of which can be pinpointed on the new map.

The Forza Horizon 5 map reveal is something fans of the series have been waiting for, and early reactions to the image are positive. Players won't have too long to wait to discover the world for themselves, as the game is scheduled to release in November. Forza Horizon 5 is one of many games releasing on Xbox Game Pass on day one, meaning subscribers won't need to pay any more to play the game on its release date.
